I used to do silly sketches and silly songs when I was a teenager on my dad's new player/recorder using the latest format - CASSETTE!! inspired by the Goons, Monty Python and Hello Cheeky (Barry Cryer, Tim Brooke-Taylor and John Junkin). That side of me has laid dormant until now. Iain Lee has opened a Pandora's Box and with the help of today's technology another creative tangential vein has been tapped into with the help of some very good basic material - the Iain Lee Afternoon Wireless Show.It all happened around Christmas 2005, when regular caller Barry from Watford called the show and availed us of his touching rendition of Silent Night, acappela. Having backed many singers in my time as an accompanying keyboardist, I knocked together a little backing track, put Barry's voice of the top of it, added a bit of reverb and sent it to Iain, who was desperately looking for a way to fill a sneakily-added 30 minutes (due to a wordy contract)On 4th January 2006, Iain played Silent Night and mp3-time was born.If you want to hear ALL the mp3s I've been involved with go to my 'band website' or click hereDownload videos from Youtube, Google, Metacafe, iFilm, MySpace...
