Aither (an ancient greek term that means "the sphere of fire": the highest part of the superior regions, that embraces the atmosphere, considered the house of Gods by the ancient Greeks) was born in the city of Cosenza (Calabria) from an idea by Pierluigi “Aries†Ammirata.
The first line-up saw the light of the day during June 2005. The band was made by Pierluigi “Aries†Ammirata (guitar), Domenico De Cicco (bass), Alexandro Adriano (drums), Fabrizio Saullo (keyboards) and Rubens Lanzillotti (vocals); all of them are already members (current or former) of various local metal bands (Darkshine, Draconian Order, Skygrave, Aeternal, Reiki-Do, Inhibition, Killer Machine, Eery Shadow), so they already found themselves playing together in some of those bands.
During the month of July 2005 - after only three rehearsals all together - they home recorded their first demo-CD titled “Awoken from Beyondâ€, whose printed copies would be released during the month of October 2005 and that would receive various reviews on the Web and on the most important Italian metal magazines. During the same month, just after the official release of the first demo, an additional guitarist joined the band : his name is Alberto Filippelli. During the year of 2006 they played some concerts in their city (Cosenza) and in the meantime drummer Alexandro Adriano decided to open his own recording studio: the Sound Factory Recording Studios.
Then Aither decided to work on their second demo-CD, but they wanted to wait to have the possibility to record in that new studio. Then a long pre-production phase would follow, trying to use the time spent for the opening of the studio in a good way, and they also did some other live shows in their own city (some of the video of these concerts can be viewed on the Web, both on the official Aither’s Website and on their own Myspace page, and also on YouTube).
During the recording of the second demo-CD, called “Antinomiaâ€, keyboard player Fabrizio Saullo decided to quit Aither, feeling not inspired and motivated within the musical style of the band anymore, but he decided to maintain his agenda with the band and he kept on working until the end of the recording sessions. During that same period the band had to face an even more complex situation with Rubens Lanzillotti, who just couldn’t handle the amount of work determined by his role in the band anymore, due to personal problems. So the other members decide, with his own approval, to stop the artistic collaboration also with him and to use the vocal tracks recorded during the pre-production phase some months before, to complete the difficult recording of “Antinomiaâ€.
It is important to say that the splits were both absolutely amicable.
The demo-CD “Antinomia†was finally complete during the month of July 2007 all of the five tracks that feature in it can be downloadable (totally free) from the band’s Website and from its own Myspace page. This second demo-CD is the end of Aither’s first embryonic phase (2005-2007), as they decide to continue their music proposal without the use of the keyboards and with the add of a new singer to replace Rubens Lanzillotti.
The band is now working on some new songs for the realization of a third demo-CD, that will be recorded as soon as possible in drummer Alexandro Adriano’s Sound Factory Recording Studios. The Coming Of The Blessed Age ( New Version ) Live At The B-Side Pub January 07 - 2007
