This long running lowrider cruising show continues to creep along with a mix of barrio oldies and Raza knowledge. Founded by Miguel Molina and a collective of students from Sonoma State at KBBF, the program relocated to KPFA in the early '80s at the urging of then Public Affairs Director Don Foster. As a community show, La Onda encourages Latino youth to steer away from destructive behavior and to instill a positive self-image through pride in our Chicano/Mexicano/Latino/Indigena heritage. Features include: "Vox Populi, Rock en Rebellion, Radio Ollin, Tierra Alerta, Chiapas No Se Olvida, El Reporte Laboral/ The Labor Report, Rocking Jalapeno Music, La Onda Verde, and Radio Cafe". Also this community based program focuses on- Chicano Historical Highlights" and "El Comentario - Que Hable La Gente Cruzeando en Las Calles de Aztlan with El Gavilan. "La Palabra" with Mr. Chuch to al the Aztlanecos, paz no mas.

This program brings independent Spanish News of South, Central, and North America that affect our indigenous, native, and world communities. Also this program focuses on environmental, social, economic, and political issues that are not heard on Spanish MainStream media. The host of this program are volunteers from various countries that compile the many issues that happen on a monthly basis.

This program deal with unions,immigrant workers,and Social Justice. The Labor Report analyzes bills that affect various majorities of low income, color, indigenous and immigrant communities. Making the voice of the worker heard, and in solodiraty with labor movements.

Rocking Jalapeno Music

This program brings a diversity of Oldies, and Chicano Music from the easrly 60's and 70's throughout Aztlan, and was the music Lowriders would cruize to back in the days. This show dedicate itself to cultura, conciencia, educaion, and the knowledge of Aztlan. Therefore kick back Relax and Organize, the barrio to tune in to hear this great rolitas after rolitas. paz en Aztlan y que vivan los Aztlanecos.

This is a monthly special with live musicians, artist, poets, activist, and bands. Utilizing music for social consciences raising for all ages, through the participation of community members who have talent with conciousness. These performances can consist of a light show , video Projection, Slide Projection and so on, incorporating a multi media approach. We normally have a band that will be live on the radio and joined with various other acts, and performers. variuos underground hip hop heads. This program sets a platform for upcoming artist, and organizers to be able to access the airwaves, and have the experience of being able to promote and increase concioussness throughout Aztlan.
