~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*It's 2007 and I felt my "about me" needed a rewrite.Firstly, I'll mention what hasn't changed. I was born in Santiago, Dominicn Republic but migrated to Brooklyn, New York with my parents when I was eight months old. I have two Brooklyn-born younger sisters, each of us a year AND month apart. They became the first generation Americans in my family. So it hasn't been easy growing up with clashing cultures and viewpoints with my parents as well as sharing one bedroom with my sisters untiI we were approaching our mid 20s. Of course, we all love and appreciate each other even more so now that we are living our own lives lol! Despite of it all, I fight to keep the family ties together and truly, truly appreciate my mother always:-).Speaking of mothers, I am proud of being one to a two year old boy and sharing the joy of raising him with my husband of eight years (this May). To come this far in my life with God leading the way is such an amazingly awesome feeling! It's so easy to take marriage and children for granted. I can understand that some people in this world can have one without the other, prefer one over the other or just don't ever see themselves living this life that I'm living. God has a plan for each of us that is so unique and specific that we are all just great autobiography books that are waiting to be picked out in this massive library we call earth. LOL call me eccentric for my metaphors! It's living out the PLAN that makes us wonder and anxious about what's to come.So that brings me to the "change" that I felt compelled to write about. I picked this background, I posted a great short film based on the belief of what a born-again Christian goes through (as well as every other human being) and also a daily bible verse for a good reason. I am born-again and I'm trying to express myself as that through this page on MySpace. It doesn't make me superhuman or "different" than any of you that are reading this. I didn't quite say so in my first bio so I am now. Simply, this is just an inkling of what it represents in my life. More like WHO represents my life. Jesus Christ is my Savior and rules my life. God sent Him, His Son, to die for our sins so we don't have to. He gave us a free will to be able to pray and repent for our sins. Therefore in Him, it's like having a loving Father who looks after us, protects us and never leaves our side. It's better than that! It's a relationship with God, that's all it is! It's taking in what He says in the Bible, applying it to your life with His help. It's about prayer and fellowship with those that have the same relationship. It's about knowing that no matter what happens, no matter how many times you fail, with faith and trust in Christ in your life, He will be there and know that you will get back up and try again. But truthfully speaking, I haven't been following everything I just wrote here. This is why I'm here and to let you all know that it's okay because He forgiving. I haven't been to church in a long time, my husband too and I haven't been around other born-again Christians. Not even our families agree with this belief if you will.I'm here to admit it and to say also, I am human too! Most of what I watch on TV, in a theater or DVD and have on my iPod may not be approved by God. That goes for practically everything else I enjoy but the thing about is that I don't let it rule me. As long as I'm aware and know what's right in God's eyes, I know that I too will pray to keep my eyes looking skyward. It's an everyday battle but having Christ as the Captain of my ship is a battle I'm willing to fight head on!In conclusion to my soapbox moment here lol, I have great news to start 2007 off with what I can only hope is what God has in store for me. I just signed up to take a 16 week business course starting in February with WIBO (www.wibo.org). I was so blessed with the dramatic "it hit me out of the blue" moment, courtesy of Christ of course, of the exact business idea that I want to see appear before my very eyes by this time next year! It will bring together all of things I feel are such a part of my heart right now. I can only pray and wonder and smile at the fluttering butterflies in me that makes me realize how real this is and that it's a must have for the fullfillment of the long-desired need to establish my own business!Okay!
