Mike The Drummer !

About Me

Heya folks it's Me (Mike)...and "welcome" to my online home here on myspace! Have a look around, and feel free to read more about me below.....Here's what i'm involved with......
Here's what i'm involved with......
Music/Music Scene - As you might have guessed I play drums, and have been a drummer since having an early start around at the age of 5.Like most everyone out there i'm also a longtime veteran of the music scene,on many levels covering studiowork,fill-ins,touring (both locally and nationally,etc..) as well as having been a permanent part of bands both in my home area (Dilligaf) as well as having been part of national and worldwide acts.
There's quite alot more highlights that I could go on and on about yet I thank God for every opportunity/tours/studiowork and people I've met along the way and especially the talent to make it all happen. I've covered alot of genres of music, from studiowork to drummer for hire,to temp positions to fulltime work. And each band/project brought with it a special challenge and group of people to work with.I still practice drum alot and currently I really like alot of the Ethereal/Atmospheric Rock/Metal thats out there (especially the "Euroscene").
I also have had alot of "P.R./Public Relation" experience with some of the bands I've worked with, from forums,to flyer design, websites, each band has had a unique direction,a unique establishment and a unique following that has been great to help out with.Even though I'm kind of an outgoing person, the music scene has really been the most involved project in my life,(since I feel I'm a better drummer then motocrosser or computer engineer),i'm looking forward to becoming part of a successful band/project that could lead to a fulfilling future.
I also still love collecting anything 80's era music, from rock to metal (demos to lps with many different genres) to most anything. This isn't musically all that I listen to (it's such a wide array of things I like).I also love to collect "vintage = 1980s era" Tama drums and Zildjian Cymbals. 1983-1991 era Tama Rockstar/Grandstar/Artstar drums are just the "it"! (power-toms that is) And Zildjian Scimitar Bronze,Platinum,Edge and especially Amir series cymbals are awesome!
Archaeology - At onetime this was a short lived major in college, which then evolved into Psychology and then lastly turned to computer science.I spent a number of years studying alot of Philosophy (eastern and western),Theosophy,Mythologies of various kinds,Church history (catholic and protestant),Systems of magic(k)al arts, Divination sciences,Alchemy,The witch burning times,Witchcraft,Manuscripts dealing with alot of these topics and subjects and alot more.I could go on and on yet I think you get the idea. The melding of cultures with spiritual beliefs is the topic and I took it very seriously and my work over the years while I was involved with it,and still do,as it reflects with the written works/books I created. The most of my involvements now with this are lecturing and Q+A sessions with people or various events. And the "brunt" of my work now is studying about various cultures and civilizations - (pre-Christian era that is).I also am a Christian too (Matthew 10:33 and John 5:24).
Motocross - My first love, and there's no sport that I have been involved with (or around) longer. Its been such a great part of my life since 1985 when I began.I raced full-time in the Amateur ranks between the years of 1986-1992 with mild results, yet hey it was fun! I got back into the world of Motocross fulltime again in 2004 after some years of being away from it all and had my first race in 12 years at the Trumbull County Fair back in July 2004! I may not be the best rider yet I can guarantee you that I have the most fun at it! In 2005,as "Moto Mike" I became part of factory Suzuki's 125 team known of as: Team Suzuki/Bills Pipes/Rockstar Energy. In which I lived in Murrieta (southeast Los Angeles area - see pics/photo albums) of California for awhile as the team's "I.T./Information Technology Director" (or fulltime "head pc geek").It was an amazing experience and great to be at that level of involvement to realize a dream come true I had years ago.I met alot of really nice/great people out there. Also I love the look/feel of the 1980's era of motocross,it was the best time I think,......a time when everyone was approachable, big corporations were not so "aggressive" in marketing their products and riders, and this was a time when "big business" hadn't "commercialized" the sport yet and there was a "real/genuine" feel to it all back then where everyone knew and supported each other. Yet in the "big scene" of the AMA world now,I like to keep a "low profile" and just enjoy the sport for what it is,and "share the wealth",(help out with others who may need help or have requests in the sport) where I can. Futurewise for me...im just happy to have a bike and ride and race a few selected events, especially some around my home area of northeast,Ohio (district 12 AMA).And im content with just this now. :)
Computers - Ah yes ...the I.T. (information technology) field, which is my careerfield, and has been for quite sometime.I dont usually go on and on about this topic yet let's just say im a "professional pc geek",who checks out all the latest tech stuff and studies about it to keep up with current trends. I love networking, legacy computers and hardware and especially games (D.O.S. games rock!).And I do hardware/software/web/remote and network support.(sounds stressful doesn't it? = it is!)
Miscellaneous - Hey because everyone likes the "kid at heart" I still like RC Car racing (the expensive "go broke" ones such as Tamiya and Kyosho),at onetime I was racing these professionally along time ago back between the years of 1986/87.I also like to get out and socialize (when I get the chance to) and lets not forget the usual "ditto sheet" outdoors things everyone likes too.
