About Me

Try the BEST MySpace Editor and MySpace Backgrounds at MySpace Toolbox !When Parisian artist Slabb released his first single - the techno pop anthem "Instead" - on Relax Beat, the track earned him praise from major figures in the electronic music scene (Ewan Pearson, Sylvie Marks, Black Strobe, Ralph Lawson). He then became the young protege of punk guru Malcolm McLaren - also a Relax Beat collaborator. Slabb occasionally works as a guest vocalist (Cosmo Vitelli, T&J, Ark) and produces remixes (Soldout) but he currently spends most of his time and energy completing his forthcoming first album. A songwriter with a taste for minimalism and experimentation, Slabb will readily use anything available - 8-bit computers, GameBoys, speech synthesis, found sounds - to underline the emotional strength of his tunes. Fond of vintage digital toys, he is somehow connected to the international chip music scene (which Relax Beat actively supports and promotes) but the diversity of his productions makes it clear that he is no lo-tech purist. Slabb has 2 tracks on the new Relax Beat compilation "Glitter & Bleep" (also known as "Joystick"), namely "Instead (T&J Lo-tech Mix)" and an 8-bit cover of the Velvet Underground's "All Tomorrow's Parties". He currently tours with T&J across Europe to promote the record, as lead singer (see video clip on the "Joystick" page).
