Laura OShea - Djis 24 and hails from Central Scotland. Her love of the clubs, the people, the atmosphere and the dancing inspired her to get behind the decks and having spun the wheels for just over 5 years Laura is more than equipped to keep the dance floor moving.Laura spent her late teens in and around the Scottish club scene. Where a lot of dancing and partying led her inevitably to where she is now. The Arches in Glasgow, her favorite club (only just piping the Terrace at Space to the post) has largely influenced her choice of tunes and beats to date. A quick flick through Laura’s vinyl and CD bags will reveal all that is good....in all forms of House music... in all of its glory!!! Officially Laura likes to signify a line in funked-up, bumping, minimal, techy-house but she doesn’t like to rule anything out. A keen believer that a little versatility goes a long way – she will cover the house sound across the board and into everything in between and beyond. Basically if it’s good enough to tell your feet and the rest of your body to move – it’s good enough for her!Laura has previously enjoyed a great 3 year residency at Innfusion, Sunderland and now having recently moved to Newcastle, she has set her sights on getting involved in the bubbling house scene there. Having played out before in Newcastle’s North Bar, Apartment and held a year long co-residency at Northumbria’s ‘Reds’ Bar, she is looking forward to getting cracking. To date the crowning moment in Laura’s DJ career has been reaching the final of the Daily Telegraph Student DJ Competition 2005, this spot saw her playing to a packed main room in Ministry of Sound London. Laura has been building on this experience ever since having learned (the ups and downs) of what it takes to hold your own in such a venue.Always keen to develop her talents Laura is in the early throws of home music production. Combining her specialist radio editing skills with her eclectic and open minded music taste she is thriving on the fruits of being a fledgling producer. With a style which is not conventional to most and not designed to be your average easy listen, her productions steer toward what she fondly calls “cosmic techâ€. A strong believer in conceptualized music and sounds, expect some quite different stuff from Laura under her production guise of ‘Cosmic G’.
