DIHASMENES ALITHIES

The band was formed in Thessaloniki, Greece at the end of 1997 by Zisis Georgoulas (guitar, vocals) and Sakis Vlahos (drums). After constantly changing their bassplayer, the band's line-up was completed by the entrance of Antonis Hatzisimeon (bass) and George Ginis (guitar). In 2001 a new member, Adam Siagas (scratches, noises), joined the band. The band's music style can be described as hardcore, influenced by various kinds of music, accompanied by aggressive social-political lyrics in Greek. Since its formation, the band has performed numerous live appearences at many places in Greece, both in clubs and at open air(?) festivals. By November 2001, a self-titled demo-cd was released , which contained 13 songs from the period 1997-1999. It was well received by the audience. Songs from this particular cd can also be found on independent collections next to well known names. In April 2003 a second cd named "Ego eimi to fos" was released as an independent production. It contains 10 songs written between 1999-2002. The album got good reviews by the Greek press, and in other countries as well. At the beginning of 2005 changes in the band's line-up were inevitable. The band got a new bass player, Christos Kourpidis, as well as a new guitar player, Makis Lazaridis, and a new singer, George Fotopoulos. Adam's place was left empty. At the beginning of 2006, a new cd named "potise me ipervoles" was released (independent production). The new cd contains 11 songs and has a slightly more metal sound.

"I never thought I would find myself listening to a Greek hardcore band. In fact I never thought I would ever be listening to any kind of music out of Greece. This group is called Dihasmenes Alithies (which means "Divided Truths") and their hardcore with hip- hop scratches has surprised me for its fine quality.
