About Me

Hey, I get to talk about myself! I'm idealistic, but down to earth and often cynical. I'm a LOVER OF ANIMALS and concerned for the ENVIRONMENT which is why I'm a member of such organisations as WWF. Don't wind me up about animals, as I'm passionate about them more than anything. I feel they live in harmony with their world and follow their path without trying to control their environment or each other. We could all learn valuable lessons from animals. I consider myself SPIRITUAL and a PAGAN, although I don't conform to any set path - witchcraft, Druidry, Celtic, Saxon, native American, Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist paths... they all have merit to me. My ideas go off on tangents and sometimes wander off completely. I despise religious dogma, especially coming from the monotheistic, patriarchal religions that seem to rule our world (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). Believe what you want to, but don't try forcing it down our throats; I choke at the thought. The cosmos and earth are my gods, not a stupid book. I read a lot, my fave fictional BOOKS being the Boudica: Dreaming series by Manda Scott (which everyone should bloody well read!) and the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling. I'm passionate about the ancient CELTS and my heroine is Queen Boudica of the Eceni tribe. I wish I lived in WALES where some of my family is from. I suffer from 'hiraeth' (homesickness... for a land which isn't my home by birth, but it is my home in my heart :p). Bit of an obsession with Cymru. Phil says Welsh is harder than Polish, but I tend to disagree! I write POETRY when I can be bothered (and by gods I'm cringing now), but otherwise I love to sleep a lot (not that I get much these days), but I'm still consistently lazy which is a good sign. I think I was a cat in a past life :) MUSIC is important to me and I love a wide range, so long as it has melody, be it world, folk or rock. I even like some trance stuff. But my favourites (depends on which mood I'm in) are CLASSIC STYLE ROCK, MELODIC HEAVY METAL and CELTIC music (with a twist of Arabic - see Loreena McKennitt). I find no enjoyment or value in most modern radio "music" - load of crap. I like people who are unique but true to who they are, not some wannabes. I like people who are DIFFERENT because most people are boring wastes of time these days. I truly HATE living in a world full of PLASTICS. I love wit, sarcasm and pissing myself laughing. I'm a good girl who's always PHILOSOPHISING and being too emotional, but I used to have a wild side - don't know where that went? My wardrobe has changed from midway GOTHIC to casual which I deeply lament. What has happened to me? Oh yes, Australia's too hot for velvet and lace.I am Purple Pixie, you'll love my nymphy ways; I look like a girly Ronnie Dio and smell of vanilla and violet haze; You'll find me chasing rainbows and dancing through castles in the sky, Or pondering beneath a tree, dreaming of reasons why; You'll meet me on the astral plane, descending countless stairs - it's where I go to Annwn to find my gods and forebears; Feel free to leave a message, though I'm out of my mind, I'll be sure to get back to you to return to you in kind :)

Fiction: the Boudica series by Manda Scott (about Queen Boudica's fight against the Roman invaders), the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling (about the famous boy wizard), The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien (about the battle for Middle Earth and a menacing ring), Angels and Demons (science vs God), and The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown (Leonardo da Vinci's secret society protecting the heir of Jesus); The Winter King, Enemy of God, and Excalibur by Bernard Cornwell (King Arthur placed in his proper context - Celtic); Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (using DNA to recreate dinosaurs with disastrous results). Non-fiction: spirituality, esp paganism, history, Celtic culture, environment, health. Two of my favourite books are The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight by Thom Hartmann (about ecology and spirituality, our responsibility to our mother earth) and The Real Middle Earth by Brian Bates (about Anglo-Saxon magic). Currently reading Pagans and Christians: The Personal Spiritual Experience by Gus DiZerega (about the similarities and differences between these two paths).Rhiannon Live 1976
