About Me
Don grew up in North Carolina, with many musical influences. His background covers a wide spectrum from Folk, Country, Gospel, Rock to Rythym and Blues. In the late 60's and early 70's, Don, his brother Bill, and Dick Jeffries, formed the Trio "The Morris Brothers", traveling throughout the United States and Far East. Following that he teamed up with John Schwab for a couple years making up one of the most outstanding Duos of the time.Don has always been interested in writing and singing his own material, and continues to play his own special brand of music and style. Don has been a solid sideman for nationally-known artists for the past two decades. To mention a few: Michael Brewer, Dwight Yoakam, Jana Jae, Pake McEntire, Tommy Overstreet, and Martin Delray. With the knowledge and experience he has gained, Don is now back to his roots and first love as an acoustic artist with the release of his CD, "Backroads". Don is performing his own music and also playing bass with artists such as the Red Dirt Rangers, Tom Skinner, Brandon Jenkins, and The Farm Couple. When you take the time to go see Don you will not only be impressed by his mellow, laid-back style on vocals, guitar and bass, but also with the original songs you'll hear!
