GMOE

GMOE, (Glenn Moore Jr.) wuz born in New Orleans, Louisiana in the year of 1984, (That’s right, an 80’s baby). Growin up in da 7th ward, and residing in da east in a city where everyday it wuz a fight and struggle just to stay alive, he managed to survive in the toughest streets where young black men normally don’t live to see 21. As he walked through life trying to beat tha odds and overcome tha sterotype, his passion and dedication to sports kept him out tha streets many dayz and probably kept him alive. Although he didn’t wanna b in the streets by choice, alotta times it was necessary to survive based on certain circumstances which were takin place in his life. GMoe neva really knew that music wuz another gift from God he had until one day jokin with his brotha (ILLY), in tha studio. That day he recorded his very first song (DAY 2 DAY). This was only suppose to be a 1 time thing for GMoe, he wuz only testing tha waters, but after people hearing tha song and telling him that he was made for it, he realized it wuz sumtin that he should pursue, and took their advice. Startin his rap career in March of 2006. By May of 2006, 2 months later, GMoe put out his first mix disc titled (DA AFTAMATH) with 20 tracks, in reference to the trials and tribulations due to hurricane Katrina. Takin no time off, in October of 2006, he then did a solo mix disc titled (A SURVIVOR’S INTUITION) with 27 tracks, all while running tha streets, attending college, playing football, being a member of the Air National Guard, and tryna be the perfect father to his two lil gurls Amaya & Alyssa. Just after two years in the rap game, and growing up during the revolution of hip–hop, Gmoe notices the drastic turn that rap music is takin, but still he chooses not take tha easy way out and make music that’s nonsense! He raps about how he lived, things he dun, what he been through, what he witnessed, where he’s tryna go in life, the struggle it took to try and get ahead in life wit little to no chances, and also holdin down his city. When he wuz asked why, his respose wuz, “I’ve kept it real all my life, no need to be fake, pretend, lie, or try to persuade people that I’ am something I’m not. I ‘m just going to be me! Whoever don’t like it, O well. Just remember, REAL RECONGNIZE REAL! That’s just tha way it iz!” His inspiration for music comes from the struggle and the pain in his life, and the people that are just like him. From the streets where chances at a decent life seems to fade away every second that passes. His motivation to make it comes from haters, poeple who always said he would neva amount to anything, people who misjudged and belittled him, kids that look up to him, and his two little gurls. When he sees how they walk around and dance singin his lyrics, it touches him and gives him that drive and energy he needs to continue on in tha rap game. So GMoe is not following his dream, He’s chasing it! And once he catches it, you better believe he will neva let it go! G.M.O.E (Get Money Ova Everythang) It’s not just a statement, It’s a way of life!
