CAESAR

A Man That Don't Work, Don't Eat

About Me

Destined to soon make his mark in the world of music, Caesar has come a long way from the dark streets of the LA Parkway. A survivor of the infamous upbringings, Caesar became a man at an early age. “Although living amongst all the ghetto formalities, I refused to let this environment take me under, I wanted something different”, Caesar recalls. Caesar started writing lyrics at the age of 16, though being considered an exceptional athlete, Caesar realized music would be his way out. In the early 90’s Caesar recalls sitting in Parkway pumping studios with artists like Mystikal, Fiend, Six Shot and Mac, soaking up the game. Though influenced by these pioneers of New Orleans hip hop, Caesar had been through enough chaos on a daily basis that prepared him for anything, including the obstacles of success surely to come his way. Caesar stayed focused on getting buzz in the city of New Orleans with weekly performances at venues like The Hanger, Club Mezzanine and The Bustdown. Caesar’s buzz grew greater and greater and was poised to become known as “The Next to Blow” then disaster struck, Hurricane Katrina devastated the City of New Orleans. Upon temporary relocation to Atl, Caesar continued to grind for the City of New Orleans despite the lost hope of most of his fellow New Orleanians, Caesar had more work to do. After connecting with a few up and coming producers, Caesar released the 15 song mixtape classic “Put it Together” which included the colorful story “Faith” and the song for the people “I don’t know why”. With Caesar’s incredible range of songwriting and stage skills, he was chosen as the winner in Blackplanet’s “Wired for Battle” competition sponsored by Rocawear in New York City. Styles P, a judge in the competition and member of The L.O.X. called Caesar a superstar. Caesar continued to grind and began working on another mixtape titled “Pretty Ugly” slated to be released spring of 2007 on his own Posterchild Entertainment label. After catching the attention of key Rocawear representatives,Caesar was tapped to appear in Rocawear’s 2007 fall ad campaign titled “I Will Not Lose” inspired by testimonials of individuals overcoming hardships. Caesar paints us a vivid picture about growing up on the Parkway and the City of New Orleans through his music determined to make a better life for his family. Caesar also uses his experiences as a message for the youth delivering true heart to heart content. Caesar’s musical influences include Mac, Soulja Slim, 2Pac, Nas and Jay Z. “I owe a debt to those who came before, me” Caesar admits. The prolific entertainer has begun a legacy of real music and his know how to inspire others, and that will ultimately define Caesar as a leader in the new generation of Hip Hop. Caesar is New Orleans Posterchild.
