Robert Smeets

Guitar player from the Chicago area based in Jazz, Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, R&B, Country, Folk and Blues. Rob moved to Columbus in 1999 to attend The Ohio State University for jazz studies. Has studied privately with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ben Monder, Brad Shepik, Kenny Werner to name a few. After graduating from OSU, Rob began playing in Polar Ops, where he met emcee Numeric. Through production work with Numeric and and other projects, Rob met Dante Carfagna (Wax Poetics Magazine, Numero Group, Professor Griff, Express Rising etc..) and released the acclaimed 45 "Olentangy Detour" on Memphix records. Since then, he has worked and developed production for many Columbus based groups. Rob also performs with The P-Jays, the Soul/Rock band New Pollution, and Columbus funk residents Jamnesia.
