About Me

Matthew Morton was born with a genetic syndrome that's symptoms increased slowly throughout his early years until February 18, 1998, when he was in fifth grade. The syndrome caused his joints to go out of place at any given time with much pain. It also caused little bumps and the like (lightly hitting an arm accidentally on a banister, for example) to hurt much more than they should have.By almost half-way through fifth grade the syndrome had become so terrible that, not only could he not write with a pencil for reason of pain, but he crawled around the house because it hurt too much to walk and attended school only half-days and every other day at that! One day in February, very much due to his teacher's begging for Matthew to attend the field trip, he went with his class to a camp meeting. At the end, the preacher asked if anyone wanted to be healed, and, if so, to come down to the front. Matthew asked his teacher if he might go, and, permission gladly granted, Matthew hastily flew from his seat to the back of the room (was in a balcony), out a door, down a flight of stairs, and eventually to the front of the stage. When the pastor's hands touched Matthew, a Divine warmth went through his body and healed him completely of the syndrome.Since that day, Matthew has pursued many things that would have been impossible prior to his receiving of healing in '98, including becoming an award winning guitar player. He gives credit to his God, the Lord Jesus Christ, for all the good that has happened since that day in fifth grade when his whole life changed.

Sounds Like: So one of my music buddies from high school got a bunch of the musical alumni together for one morning of leading junior and high school kids in some musically amazing, awesome praise and worship. The latter half of this clip features me playing an ORIGINAL, IMPROVISED SOLO. The guitar licks before the long solo are improvised by Andrew Maris.
