About Me

Rook has spent the last 5 years writing, recording and performing across the midwest. The music we write is composed with reckless abandon in terms of genre. We have no desire whatsoever to fit into any kind of preconceived mold. The purpose of this band is to create music that all of the members enjoy with no boundaries and no ceiling above our heads. Fame and glory have no bearing on our creativity. We do not care if anyone thinks we are too "this" or too "that". We are not here to please everyone, we are here to write the music we enjoy writing.
During the course of our creative endeavor we have been blessed with a legion of devoted fans. The support of which has helped us get through some very hard times. For that we are eternally grateful to you all. We have been presented with a number of awards including two Spot awards (2005/2006) for best hard rock/metal act, as well as the Urban Tulsa "Absolute Best of Tulsa - Best Up-and-Coming band" 2005. We have finally finished what may have been the hardest record to have ever been recorded and are poised for its release this summer. The album will be available for purchase through our myspace page along with lots of merch for all you memorabilia hungry Rookies. Progress Report

Got a few mixes back from our engineer for the CD. Things are finally starting to come together. All the tones are kickass, now we just have to do a little fine tuning and we can send the damned thing...

ROOK is in a period of transition right now. We are changing practice spaces, along with perhaps our practice schedule (which is tricky with 6 different people, one of which lives in Norman OK)....
