I was born in 1979 in Israel, and moved to the UK at the tender age of 8.
Coming from a musical family (Dad: jazz pianist, Mum: concert violinist) I started classical piano training at the age of 6.
At 13 during the 'rebelion' years, I dropped it for Bass when the school rock band I was in had no bassist (and had a classically trained pianist instead... i mean - duh).
I spent a few years playing 'ROCK' while cultivating long hair and a generally greasy complexion.
As i got older, I started smoking the green stuff and chilling out somewhat - listening to (and playing along to) mostly Acid Jazz (Corduroy, Incognito, Jamiroquai - before they lost the message) and discovering some more 'out there' 'propper' jazz/fusion like Miles Davis, Cruisaders, Jeff Lorber & Weather Report.
Now - after my brain forcefully weaning me back off the green stuff - I've comercially released two smooth jazz albums with a partner under the name 'Sugar & Silk'... While Oli Silk is still a full time keyboard player and producer of all things smooth - I changed direction and started my own design company which is going pretty well. ( Sugarcube Studios )
I produce music in pretty much any genre that takes my fancy now - trying to implant something of my Jazz influence and working with different collaborators whenever I can - which recently hasn't been all that often.
