About Me

Fyeld managed to get a solid following among open-minded metal fans in their homeland Bulgaria in no time. Formed in 1998 by vocalist and guitar player Bobz and drummer Dodo, they started searching for a place for a different kind of music under the sun, and in 1999, in a line-up featuring just a guitarist, a bass player (Axl) and a drummer, the guys recorded their first five-song demo.
Little by little the band began playing live whenever and wherever it was possible, in various bigger and smaller local clubs, regularly appearing on local radio and TV music shows, too. In 2001 Fyeld recorded a demo consisting of nine songs, plus four older cuts as bonus tracks. It quickly turned into a total hit in the local underground.
A few months later two more musicians were recruited - second guitar player Vlado, and a Finnish guy called Timo Puukko to take care of samples, programming and a third guitar. The sound got harder, videos for the songs "TKO" and "I Scream" were shot, the quintet was chosen to open the shows of Slayer, Halford and Anthrax in Bulgaria's capital Sofia, meanwhile working on their debut album...
Recorded at Stain Studio in Sofia and released in the spring of 2003 by the local label Joker Media, Fyeld's self-titled full-length debut offers over 53 catchy minutes of playing time segmented to 12 tracks and... Yes, we could state that these five talented musicians have created one of the best Bulgarian modern metal sound-bombs so far. Generally speaking, "Fyeld" should be strongly recommended to those of you who believe they would adore a pretty much in-their-own-way done mighty sound-breed of Machine Head meets Skinlab meets Linkin Park meets Korn meets Stone Sour... meets Fyeld. In other words, get ready for tight down-tuned guitars, diverse and smashing mid-tempo rhythm and a slight, well-fitting electro-background crashing into the wall of Bobz's impressive Jekyll-and-Hyde type of vocals. Add to it the crystal-clear sound, as well as tons of various ideas and melody-curves incorporated in the songs' structure, and you'll surely agree that we simply cannot define the style of Fyeld's music as ordinary nu-metal or crossover or whatever...
Right now - after contributing to an audio-compilation called "Playlist" (released in 2005 by Stroeja.com ) with a tune entitled "Q-Tech" - the guys are working on brand-new material destined to find its place in Fyeld's second full-length studio offering. It was recorded at Stain Studio during the second half of 2006. The CD should be released by the end of that same year, and ts current working title is "Not Blond Enough to Survive the Holocaust"...
