Ok - Let's get to work...

About Me

I'm a jazz musician. I'm a drummer. I'm a composer. I'm a teacher. (I'm good looking - but that only helps with some things!)
I'm also a writer. And a person who makes declarations.... And lot's of jokes!
When I went to Berklee College of Music ('90-'95) I made some amazing friends like Shane, Dan, Leslie, Jude, Adriana, Tristana, Ron, Andrea, Nate, Abe, Antonio... the list goes on.
It's also when I fell in love with jazz: Miles, Max, Art, Dizzy, Trane, all the guys. It was really amazing to hear Kind of Blue for the first time when all I knew was Rush, Journey, a little Sting, a lot of Chick Corea w/ Weckl, and then... BAM!! 'So What' comes on: Paul Chambers, Bill Evans, Jimmy Cobb, Miles... Wow!!!! Thank you John Ramsey!! I wonder how many more students of his had the same epiphany. Life altering... Then I studied with Ian Froman, who really helped me to take things to a different place.
Then I did this for a while:
I had a a band that was called King 'Tet. It was a pretty successful straight-ahead jazz quintet, we got pretty tight, and we made some good music. I'll put some tracks here a little later on... EJ Hughes tenor, John Castleman trumpet, Tony Venturini, then Mike Bocchicchio on Bass and either Christian Tamburr on piano or maybe Alex Clements. After a while it all got changed around; Greg Little, Dave Stewart, Charles Wilson III, Bob Thornton... Them and some other really great players. A lot of fun.
Now I'm in Los Angeles, Marina del Rey to be specific, and about 150 yards from the water and loving this area! I'm not playing as much as I thought I would, and after this accident(?) with my arm, I've realized that my priority really is music!!!!!! Real estate is cool... but I still want to play drums!!!
But I’ve also really been interested in the current discovery of the quantum physics revolution that’s going on. It’s making a complete paradigm shift in society, as far as how a small, but growing, section of people understand and view reality. If you haven’t seen "What the Bleep Do We Know?" or "The Secret", take some time and get into it – It will really change how you perceive things around you… and it’s only the small tip of the iceberg!!
