About us!!! Most home grown Writers here in the Bay Area knows the general history about TMF. But what a lot of folks don't know is where TMF originated.... In Daly City!!! Daly City Writers at the time influenced much of what was going on in SF. San Francisco has and always had a rich culture of art and music and.... graffiti writers (and graffiti artists (two different things)). The writers from Daly City of the early 80's laid much of the ground work for TMF and for SF writers. Daly City writers such as the RW Crew were the essential building blocks of what was to become. The RW's formed in 84. Some of the members included: Eyez, Steel, Dug, and Rif. The RW crew was absolutely at the top of their game in 84' - 85' whom were innovators of style executing burners throughout the hood of DC and into SF which at the time were 98 percent illegal tags, throw-ups and pieces. Legal walls were rare. Most of the things seen in the media of the "Old School" are from the late 80's on. The early 80's were the golden era of writing here in the Bay Area and the stories from that era are yet to be told.Despite what you have been told, writing did not actually explode in the San Francisco until early to mid 84. Yes, there were writers getting up before 1984, but that was at a minimum, a low minimum, especially if they are from the Bay Area. There was all kinds of things happening back then. Cholo's were getting up, a story of it's own and not just the writing aspect of it. Various unknown individuals and some known, who got up graffiti as we know it today, but not from this generation with the exception of Cuba and a few of the older writers from the East Bay, which is another rich story of it's own. There was Punk Rock type of graffiti. There were random unkown writers coming from the East Coast hitting up there signature on occassion. There were the "White Punks On Dope (WPOD)", the BNG's, and other non cholo type art works were going up. San Francisco was a completely different place before the 90's..... MORE TO COME....
