KOOL DJ RIZE TMF CREW aka Mr. Azul

Thanks to Pop's, around 1977, Mr. Azul began collecting vinyl, Soul, Rock, Reggae and early Electronica. These records became Azul's soundtrack to life. Enter 1982, a close friends older brother returns from military duty fortunately thru the BX, with two turntables, a mixer and tape decks, - WHAT?! Azul began his training and journey as a DJ and life had changed forever.********** The record collection expanded, Hip-Hop grew and so did Azul's skills with his 1200's. In 1987 Azul opened for DJ Apollo and Mixmaster Mike at DALY CITY'S War Memorial building, a dance for his high school graduation, it was on! In the late 80's Azul caught his first Club appearances through DJ Pause at Venues such as CLUB X, THE DNA LOUNGE, and THE CLUBHOUSE (now the Kilowatt)********** In 1991 Azul produced and spun for local acts Rare Breed and TMF. In 1992 Azul jumped into Radio at Stanford's 90.1 KZSU and produced and worked on shows, "Strictly Hip-Hop Radio Show" and "The Mental Assault" alongside J-FLEX and THE SPECIALIST for the next 4 years. In 1994 Azul appeared on stage for the politically charged AZTLAN NATION.**********In 1998 Azul dropped "BENEATH THE UNDERDOG" an Ep on MALVADO RECORDS. Since then Azul has performed in dozens of local clubs, DECO, THE CRASH PALACE, HOLY COW, ELBOW ROOM, MIGHTY, THE GLASS CRUTCH, TOWNSEND, CW SALOON, and CAFE BABAR, just to name a few.********** Currently Azul is working with rap talent SANTOS as producer and DJ, has layed down cuts for the Salvadoranian group PEZCOSADA and THE GRAFF/PROFILE/LIFE SOON TO FOLLOW...
