do you hear my call though you're many years away

About Me

Ok that song's not really by me. It's the demo off my girlfriend's early 90's Casio keyboard. But I still think the world needs to hear it.
To hear what I actually do, click on the Cat Empire or the Genie below, or more recently some of the Jackson stuff too. What goes on tour generally stays on tour, but some of it also wipes off the next morning onto the Cat Empire tour diary , which I write nearly every day.
Ryan Monro is a bass player from Melbourne, Australia who absolutely detests autobiographies that are written in the third person. He thinks people should not be afraid to big-note themselves, especially on myspace. I also like asparagus, being a hypocrite, correct pluralisation, and being economical with prefices. I dislike confusing handshakes, hypocrites, the phrase "don't go there" and myspace layouts that are so clever that they're entirely illegible. I like Pimp My Ride but Xzibit's laugh gives me nightmares. If I could be any superhero it would be Yngwie Malmsteen.
Myspace tells me that I'm "Currently awaiting approval from Charles Darwin". I choose not to read too much into that.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: I play bass in The Cat Empire, The Genie, and Peaking Duck
Influences: Recently: Steve Reich, Duran Duran, Queen (A Night at the Opera), Will Self (Cock and Bull, Quantity Theory of Insanity), Tom Robbins (Wild Ducks Flying Backward), Giorgio Moroder (the bass line from I Feel Love...that's about it), Tekken: Dark Resurrection. Plus all the CD's that I bought in June and had shipped back from Canada in July and only just arrived. Five months. I think most of them got scurvy at some point on the journey.
Sounds Like: A thong hitting an esky.

It has to be about three days now since I discovered something growing in my kitchen.  I'm not talking about that potato in the bottom drawer that kept growing for months, its roots clawin...

This story starts with, "I looked up the Cat Empire on wikipedia".  First of all I want to make clear exactly why I was looking up my own band on wikipedia.  It's not as sad as it sou...
