Eden Altman

Eden Altman was given a 4-track aged 13. He wrote songs for high-school sweet hearts and for the birthdays of relatives. He quickly uncovered the seductive powers of composition and production. In 1998 Eden studied music production at RMIT’s Multi Media Arts (the cooler alternative the VCA). After a compiling an un-listenable, typically ambitious university musical folio, he pissed off to travel Europe. Travelling with a blue Strat and a chamois, he stumbled into a sound engineering job at The Modern Opera of Bastille, Paris. In Paris, Eden met the incredible Matthias Froidefonde. Together they work tirelessly at Plus 30 (then Paris's biggest studio) and still maintain a fabulous connection. They have recorded songs for French television and have worked on may creative projects over the years. After bluffing his way though France and a short stint performing jazz at The Helfti Bar in downtown Zurich, Eden headed home, head full of contemporary jazz and pretzels. On arrival in Melbourne, Eden invented ‘President Schnitzel Head’, quirky songs inspired by the likes of Senior Coconut and Aphex Twin started to appear on random compilations and finally a short run EP called, “Want’s To See Your Titties”. Legendary performances of this guise consisted of a laptop, 1 analogue keyboard, a guitar and a zillion pedals. However nowadays it seems the Hungarian vampire ‘Schnitzel’ is in hiatus. Eden’s besty Jimmy (a.k.a Spoonbill) started to make waves in the music industry, so Eden busied himself with the Spoonbill project on both Megafauna and Nestegg. Eden has led many bands into obscurity but has humbly assisted many groups into glory. He has performed with, Abby Dobson (Leonardo’s Bride) and supported Tex Perkins, Lior and The Waifs. Toured nationally and appeared on The Today Show, The Morning Show, Kerri-Anne and Neighbours. He has worked for two years with Josh Abrahams (Addicted 2 Bass) on finding new ways of spending time in the studio with Youtube.
