Singing since age 3, and songwriting since age 10, Angela Peel has been destined for endless success in the entertainment industry. Throughout her childhood in Chicago, IL, she performed in various school and church functions as well as talent events all over the city. Angela achieved national exposure with her participation in The WB's Popstars 2 musical competition reality show in 2001, and continued the following year on Fox Television's enormously successful flagship program, American Idol: Season 1, where she advanced to the Top 30 and also was chosen to return for the Wildcard Show. The attention and recognition that Angela received from the two popular shows led her to acquire many quality industry contacts and a solid fan base.
Since American Idol, Angela has continued to build recognition in the entertainment industry and has attracted new fans with consistent exposure. Angela has done live performances with artists such as Malcolm-Jamal Warner and his band Miles Long and Ms. Triniti (Columbia Records). Angela displayed her skill and passion as a songwriter on the debut album from Jim Verraros (American Idol: Season 1, finalist) entitled "Rollercoaster", which was released in March 2005 on Koch Records. She made her acting debut starring as "Sera" in The Greenwich Group's workshop production of The Playground in September 2004 in LA. She went on to work with Debbie Allen and Tommy Davidson in Sammy: A Musical shortly thereafter, and is currently a cast member of the east coast tour of The Lion King.
Angela continues to aggressively pursue her career in music by recording with her current producer Gabe Lopez (World's End Mgmt.) and seeking out opportunities. Her efforts have recently resulted in being featured in a commercial for Coca Cola that is routinely played as part of Coca Colas national campaign to attract a younger demographic. In this commercial, Angela gives an amazing acoustic performance of her original song entitled "No More". This commercial and song has been so well received that it was added to Coca Colas website.
Angela has been compared to artists such as Alanis Morrisette, Garbage, No Doubt and Pretenders. She will, without a doubt, make her presence known to all. With her unique style, one of a kind vocal talent, and rock/alternative sound, Angela will be an absolute phenomenon in the music industry and is destine to become the world's next superstar!
