About Me

I'm a girl. I'm a geek. These are not mutually exclusive.

I am nowhere near normal in a lot of ways. I have more "interesting" medical conditions than you can shake a stick at. I ride a tricycle because I fall off bicycles. I'm completely obsessed with Sims 2 and rhythm action games. I'm an adult fan of Pokemon. Despite being 31, I have a large collection of cuddly toys, including a small green dinosaur who goes everywhere with me . And I have 3 romantic partners, who know about each other.

The whole Myspace "popularity" thing doesn't sit well with me, and the only reason I have this profile is to check out stuff by bands I like - as bands tend to use this in preference to livejournal because you can add music directly. Don't expect me to be here much. If you want to talk to me, check out my livejournal .

I'd like to meet:

The handful of friends from alt.polyamory and #soc.bi that I still haven't met in person.

Music:

Eclectic!
Synthpop/Electronic: Freezepop, Karacter, kasson crooker, Erasure. 80s music in general.
Lo-fi/US indie: Compulsion, dEUS, Eels, Mega City Four, Pixies.
Punk Rock: Bad Religion, Blink-182, Pulley.
Political Rock: Midnight Oil.
The Wildhearts & their many spin-off bands: 3 Colours Red, Grand Theft Audio, The Jellys, Silver Ginger 5.
J-pop and K-pop.

Television:

Don't watch it. But here's my favourite video games: Amplitude, Animal Crossing, Dance Dance Revolution, Frequency, Gitaroo Man, Guitar Hero, Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, Pop'n Music, Ratchet & Clank, Rez, The Sims 2, Zelda: The Wind Waker.

Books:

I love: Lois McMaster Bujold, Poppy Z. Brite, Douglas Coupland & Neil Gaiman. I like science fiction, fantasy, horror and crime fiction, as well as good lesbian & gay fiction. What I really need in a story is strong characters. So I dislike many of the "masters" of science fiction who write lots of good science but cardboard cut-out people. I'm also a feminist, so if females exist in the book merely as romantic interests for the men, I'll be turned off immediately.

My Blog

like someone walked over my grave
