As I feel very sad about how children are treated in this world, and the terms they have to deal with on an everyday basis, I have chosen to support two organizations who fight for the overall fulfilment of children's needs and improvement of their circumstances in general.
Nepenthes, which I have chosen to support as well, is an environmental organisation working to encourage sustainable use of the world's forests, particularly in Denmark and the rainforests of the tropics.
This is accomplished through actual projects local to forest areas and through political lobbyism. Much of their work is carried out on a voluntary basis, why they perform much of their activity on free labour provided by 60 active members.
I am convinced that we cannot overestimate the importance of preserving nature's resources. I also think it is equally imperative to educate the inhabitants of the rainforest areas and countries, and get the wood exporters and importers to realize, that we simply can't keep on exploiting the tropical forests is this manner.
From 1994-2003 I was a gospel singer in the gospel choir Saints and Sinners in Copenhagen. This period was a series of wonderful experiences, and the people I met during that time, I shall never forget. Participating in the choir events, workshops and especially The Copenhagen Gospel Festival was truly fantastic. I've had the privilege to get to know some very talented singers, instructors and musicians. To mention a few: Richard Smallwood, Calvin Bridges, Ruth Lynch, Peter Steinvig, Kerry Smith, Kevin Bond, Albert Campos, Peggy Britt, Karen Gibson, Gerome Bell, Ricky Grundy, Dirk Chaney, Junior Robinson, Gerald Smith, Keith Wellington, Patrick Henderson, David Daniels and his fantastic People's Christian Fellowship Gospel Choir in London, Etta Cameron, Frank Anker, Peter Mikkelsen, Thomas Hansen, Johnny "KC" Rasmussen, Tobias Folting, Peter Kofoed-Nielsen and many more.
