Howdy there!

About Me

I was born and raised in Virginia's Washington, DC, suburbs, where I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in 1993. Except for spending two years (1994-1996) serving as a full-time missionary here and there around Michigan, I then lived for quite a few years in Provo, Utah, where I attended Brigham Young University (BYU) off and on. I have been majoring in physics there and I hope to become a university professor of physics when I grow up. Although science interests me, my real passions are both religion and politics; I might be best described as a Christian (LDS) libertarian Republican , in essentially that order. I established an LDS Freemen group here on MySpace to address both of these passions; so, if you happen to be a liberty-loving Latter-day Saint like me, then please feel free to join us!
Fellow Avatar MUD players may know me better as one of my dozen friendly neighborhood characters, namely Stealthhoofs, Thunderhoofs, Arrowflinger, Skyrider, Gesundheit, Dragonzerker, Dracopaladin, Dracowarlock, Dragonshaman, Yaxche, or Woodsy. If you're a fellow MUDder, then you may also want to visit my AvatarWiki user page .
I've been with Yahoo! for some time now, also as DaveGarber1975 , so feel free to come look me up there, as well! And, while you're there, feel free to check out my other blog .
I have a home page , as well, but there's nothing interesting to see on it at present. Hopefully, though, I'll remedy that someday...

Movie Review: "Spider-Man 3" (2007)

Spider-Man 3 (2007) is, of course, the third film in the ongoing Spider-Man film series.  I hate it when Hollywood makes one good film and then recycles its plot through an endless series of infe...

Movie Review: "Shrek the Third" (2007)

Shrek the Third (2007) is, as its title suggests, the third Shrek film to be produced.  In it, Shrek struggles both to find a royal successor and to deal with impending fatherhood.  I absolu...

Movie Review: "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" (2007)

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007) is the third and (presumably) final film in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.  I thoroughly enjoyed its two predecessors and hoped that this on...

Movie Review: "Next" (2007)

Next (2007) is an interesting yarn about a guy who can constantly see a couple of minutes into his own future and, thereby, anticipate various possible outcomes and then choose between them accordingl...

Movie Review: "Meet the Robinsons" (2007)

Movie Review: "In the Land of Women" (2007)

In the Land of Women (2007) is a rather odd story about a guy who gets dumped by his girlfriend and then responds by going to live with his slightly-deranged grandmother, who claims that she is dying,...

Movie Review: "Firehouse Dog" (2007)

Firehouse Dog (2007) is a rather cute children's flick about a boy and a dog.  This dog is a pampered film star who meets with trouble, is thought dead, and gets adopted by a struggling firehouse...

Movie Review: "Disturbia" (2007)

Disturbia (2007) is (as I thought that it would be based upon its previews) a rather loose retelling of Alfred Hitchcock's classic film Rear Window (1954) adapted to a modern setting.  Bored whil...
