She is a real monster. She is no baby anymore, she is a woman. -Pablo Picasso

About Me

I have a beautiful skin. Most of the time.

My Interests

I follow haute couture. "I am a magazine reader!" I'm not a visual artist, but l like visual art: Balthus, Modigliani, Christian Schad (Deutchland's New Objectivity), Ubaldo Oppi, Boccioni, Gino Severini, Vanessa Beecroft, Larry Clark, August Sander.... Big into violent, dog eat dog sports like boxing, but I'd never get in the ring myself because I am painfully vain. I'm good with languages. And I go abroad frequently, because there's family out there.

I'd like to meet:

No one who thinks it clever to pepper their language with the term "post-modernist", or the even worse, "po-mo", in an effort to seem more sophisticated. I don't go around saying I'm neo-classical, baby.

Music:

Serge Gainsbourg, Francoise Hardy, Jeanette, Anita Lane, Rolling Stones, Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, Tim Hardin, Blonde Redhead, Nico, Secret Machines, Blur, The Gossip, Broken Social Scene, Animal Collective, Jim Noir, Shoplifting, Chemical Bros, Gorillaz, Soledad Bravo, Silvio Rodriguez, Mala Rodriguez, Rapture, Aesop Rock, Dizzee Rascal, Röyksopp, Lee Hazelwood + Nancy Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Benjamin Britten, John Cale, Elastica, Wilderness, Quasimoto, Miss Kitten, Future Sound of London, Handsome Boy Modelling School, Hall & Oates, Tom Tom Club,Fiery Furnaces, Air, Sebastian Tellier, Cocorosie, Giorgio Moroder, Man Man, Crowded House, big black sonorous voices like those of Gwen MCrae, Donna Summer, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Emotions, Old Tina Turner... Pulp, John Dowland, Ornella Vanoni, Fabrizio De Andre, Dalla, Tenco, Lucio Battisti, Silvio Rodriguez, Coltrane, Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett, and the Mary Jane Girls, who blew my mind (69 times)...Most recently, Italo Disco, Roxy Music

Movies:

L'Atalante, Once Upon a time in America..., The Last Days of Disco, Kansas City, Days of Heaven, Betty Blue, Landscape in the Mist, Gloria (the Rowlands/Cassavetes one), Nostalghia, Juliet of the Spirits, Le Samourai, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Russian Arc, Jude, Battle Royale, Eight and a Half, Caravaggio, Palindromes, Mullholland Drive, Dancemaker, Fanny and Alexander, Rain, Moloch, Gimme Shelter, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Shampoo, Red Desert, Don't Look Now, Doctor Zhivago, Sugar Cookies, Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, ... Aliens

Television:

Deadwood, Arrested Development, Squidbillies, Aqua Teen, Metalocalypse, Ali G, Trading Spouses, and I used to like Top Model, but it's just really awful now. Not even funny-awful.

Books:

"She's funny, " the top-heavy bombshell is quoted as telling the mag. "Last time I met her we were in a restaurant together. She slammed the menu down and screamed, 'I hate reading! Someone tell me what's on the menu!'"Michael Ondaatche's 'Collected Works of Billy the Kid', Francois Mauriac's 'Therese Desqueyroux', 'Embers' by Sandor Marai, Nabokov's 'Ada' and 'Lolita', 'Virginie' by John Hawkes, 'A Maggot' and 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' by John Fowles, 'Fay', by Larry Brown, 'The Crimson Petal and the White', Jean Cocteau's 'Les Enfants Terribles', 'One Hundred Years of Solitude ', 'Madeleine is Sleeping' by Sarah Shun-lien Bynum, and really, just about anything written by Mary Gaitskill, but especially her 'Veronica'

Heroes:

Traci Lords, for her tenacity.

Heat's off (Again)

And I just don't know what to do. This week was supposed to be crazy productive. And nevermind that so far, it has been rather unabashedly lackadaisical. I was counting on a grand finish. But how will...

Homosexuality (liked this)

First I saw the round bill, like a bud;then the sooty crested head, with avernal eyesflickering, distressed, then the peculiarlong neck, wrapping and unwrapping itself, like pity or love, when I remove...

I've come to the conclusion that to be too casual with my body would more or less destroy an important, singular aspect of my personality. One that I am not willing to let go. Want some more psy...

THINGS CHANGE

For instance:I'm a lot happier now. And also, the house is much cleaner. Amazing how much gets done when the only person who you can depend on is yourself.

in the C of possibility

I keep drinking coffee too late in the evening, and staying up until late early morning. And waking up after noon, then reading, preening, musing, not getting anything concrete done. And apparently, t...

Morbid yet thorough (and more)

I've got to slowly wean myself off all these surveys and quizzes. It's kinda annoying. But I thought this one was cute. It made sense. One of the questions was "Do you like to tease animals?" and of c...
