Art, Wisdom and Women
"Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to
new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints
on our hearts, and we are never ever the same." ~ Flavia Weedn
My Resolution for 2007 and Beyond
To live content with small means,
to seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion,
to be worthy, not respectable,
and wealthy, not rich,
think quietly, talk gently, act frankly,
to listen to stars and birds,
to babes and sages, with open heart,
to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely,
await occasions, hurry never,
in a word to let the spiritual,
unbidden and unconscious,
grow up through the common,
this is to be my symphony.
William Ellery Channing
Contentment is not just an 'peaceful, easy feeling' or a way to rationalize laziness. It is a deep, easy-breathing wisdom that knows what can and can't be changed, and more important, knows when to do and when to wait. The contented person watches the world closely, but does not stare it down. She enjoys things,rather than trying to possess them or straighten them out.
The Virtue in the Vice by Robin Meyers
We have another life
between sunset and sunrise.
The dark net of night falls upon us
allowing us to rest and regenerate.
The dreaming subconscious uses
our imagination to teach and enlighten.
Dreams can be the first stepping
stones to manifesting reality.
Rest in the field of all possibility.
Travel beyond space and time.
Sleep peacefully and remember to
DREAM.
Look to this day!
For it is life,
the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the verities and realities of your existence:
The bliss of growth;
The glory of action;
The splendor of achievement;
For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is only a vision;
But today, well lived, makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness,
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another:
What! You too? I thought I was the only one.
C.S. Lewis
It was deep April,
and the morn
Shakespere was born;
The world was on us, pressing sore;
My love and I took hands and swore,
Against the world, to be
Poets and lovers evermore,
To laugh and dream on Lethe's shore,
To sing to Charon in his boat,
Heartening the timid souls afloat;
Of judgement never to take heed,
But to those fast-locked souls to speed,
Whoe never from Apollo fled,
Who spent no hour among the dead;
Continually
With them to dwell,
Indifferent to heaven and hell.

Remember that love
gives nothing but from itself.
Love possesses not,
nor would it be possessed,
for love is sufficient unto love.
And think not that you can
direct the course of love.
For love, if it finds you worthy,
will direct your course.â€
Gibran
Don't pray for fewer problems; pray for more skills.
Don't ask for smaller challenges; ask for greater wisdom.
Don't look for an easy way out; look for the best possible outcome.
Last night I wept.
I wept because the process by which I
have become a woman was painful.
I wept because I was no longer a child
with a child's blind faith.
I wept because I could not believe anymore
and I love to beleive.
I wept because I have lost my pain
and am not yet accustomed to its absence.
Anais Nin
The light of God surrounds me.
The love of God enfolds me.
The power of God protects me.
The presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am, God is!"
~ Unity "Prayer for Protection" ~
Life is a process of becoming,
a combination of states
we have to go through.
Where people fail is
that they wish to elect a state
and remain in it.
Anais Nin
Take hold lightly;
let go lightly.
This is one of the
great secrets of love
Spanish Proverb
"Unless a commitment
is made, there are only promises
and hopes;
but no plans."
- Peter F. Drucker
Voices that preach peace must never fall silent.
Last night,
In my dream
I found bliss tucked inside your embrace.
I found music in the traces of your touch.
I found you;
your beauty
your truth
your love.
When I awakened and you were gone,
I found memories of your kisses,
Whispering lullabies in my ear.
Luring me back to my dream.
.... is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.
