The sun shines as she opens doors makes gates and smiles fall over the lost sheets and forgotten dreams I am still here Inbetween the wires and little fires the heartbreaks and souls taken aback by human nature never perfect like those white sheets they stain so easily. JI have truly been enriched by the artists I have worked with. Producing for the screen combines the things I love most music, art, design, imagery, experimentation, motion, emotion, the ability to transcend reality into the surreal, the powerful, the ecstatic.INTERESTS-Nice people, The illusive underground of a heart and mind, the underside of the ocean. The most beautiful thing I have ever seen is the brave act of one to lay down their arms of defense and weapons of illusion. The courage it takes to be vulerable exposing all flaws and weakness, dropping all fiction to the floor like a thin robe. That is beauty and that is brave........................People in general trip me out ...the most normal of them is probably the psycho killer and I will call it love. I enjoy learning about the world and the people in it. I aspire to surround myself with the less cynical. I love to be inspired by those unashamed of the good within them. It reminds me it's okay to be genuine...even in LA. I am drawn to artists...creators of every regard. You want to change the world? Open hearts and minds...teach the world to open their eyes. Abolish ignorance and hatred. We are so much more than what we have allowed ourselves to see. Photography and film are luminous examples of the shape of things. Or just look outside your window.MUSIC To me is a conversation with give and take, sometimes it's a good conversation. Something needed to be said and if you are wise you will listen.Musically I'm open...Bring it on....my classics are 10,000 Maniacs/Natalie Merchant, Bjork, Goldfrapp, Tori, Counting Crows, Cure, Smiths, Heather Nova, Poe..Haunted, Coldplay, Radiohead, Garbage, the blues played live at Muddywaters in New Orleans and Sarah McLachlan.More recently I have a special thing for Snow Patrol,The Bravery,Interpol, Sigur Ros, frou frou, Imogen Heap, Jillian because she does a kick ass improv on the freeway, The Shins, The Fray, Dashboard Confessional, Killers, Howie Day, Anna Nalick, Rachael Yamagata and lately I've gone retro, Led Zepplin, the Beatles, Aretha Franklin for booty shakin'and Bob Dylan..I know I was a little late getting on that bus...
I've already met the people I thought I would like to meet...Now I'd like to meet quirky, thoughtful people. People with creativity and passion. People not afraid to share and laugh often. People not afraid to eat a cookie...it is LA after all....
MOVIES The Girl in the Cafe... everyone should see this film. Every three seconds a child dies of extreme poverty, we have an obligation to be great. What Dreams May Come ..with the sound off..Documentaries that change my perspective, Constant Gardner, Eternal Sunshine, Run Lola Run, Fried Green Tomatoes, Crash, A Life Less Ordinary, Garden State, Girl on a Bridge, GATTACA, Great Expectations, Anything with Cate Blanchette, American Beauty, High Art, The Professional, Bruce All Mighty, Liar Liar or any lame Jim Carrey movie;), Harry Potter movies, When Night Is Falling, The Village, The Business of Strangers, Lost and Delirious, Imagine Me and You, more later
Def Poetry, IFP, Sundance, movies , movies , movies...Okay fine..I don't have time for much TV but when I do I like CSI and I'm a total dork for the discovery and history channels
BOOKS...I love buying books and am learning to make the time to actually read them...I love Dickenson, Winterson, Anais Nin,The Power of Kabbalah, "So, You Wanna Be A Pilot, Flight Instruction for Idiots". The fantastical worlds and beauties created by Neil Gaiman, like in American Gods, Neverwhere, Smoke and Mirrors. Sacred Romance, The Artists Way, Fit For Life, Green Eggs and Ham, Early Anne Rice, and I'm addicted to self help books, books on travel, philosophy or psychology;~)HEROS...My parents and you..."be the change you wish to see in the world". -Ghandi
