It can take you to another place without you ever leaving your chair.” Don’t let her calming words fool you, up and coming gospel artist Monifa E. means what she says as she’s heaven bent on being an influential harmonious vessel for God.
Hailing from Princeton, NJ, the northeastern native and St. Thomas-bred singer had hopes and dreams of being a role model, as a child. At age 10, Monifa E. began her journey singing for the choir at St. James AMA Methodist Church in Hightstown, NJ. It was in the church singing for the Lord that began the foundation for Monifa E.’s understanding of God and how being a lyrical warrior for Christ was in the stars.
Her budding dream continued to flourish as Monifa E. auditioned for the exclusive Hampton University choir and became apart of their traveling choir. It was there that she would condition herself for greatness; sharpening her vocal skills and perfecting her pitch to seamlessly hit those pristine high notes.
While currently working on her debut album, “It’s Not About M.E.” with Beat Switch Productions, Monifa E. still makes time to lend her powerful voice to rising gospel rappers like Ish and Al Hunter. Her touring has really started to heat up, as she has performed in major and exotic venues in places like New Jersey, Philadelphia, Florida, Virginia, and the Virgin Islands; in addition to being featured on the highly acclaimed ‘Ambush Mixtape’ from Beat Switch Productions.
Her brother calls her a “riff queen”, but it’s her heart and determination that makes her a powerful and charismatic soldier of God. Monifa E. wants to touch lives in a positive way with her music. Her message is one of peace, independence and showing her love for the Lord through music. Monifa E. has paid her dues and her vocal prowess cannot be ignored. The beautiful songstress is rapidly on the rise and poised to etch her name in the Gospel industry as an explosive anointed vocalist.
