Myspace, is a great place for people to come together, and meet up with old friends as well as meet new ones, but also it is a great way to spread awareness, as well as a means of giving people a chance to help others.
In the past, for each person who added this charity myspace group we donated 25 cents to charity. Currently we are not doing this(because of spam/bots etc) -but we are still giving to the charitable causes and will keep you updated. We are using this on myspace as a networking tool. So far we have helped send 4000 lbs of food, and over $21,581 of medical supplies, food, clothing, and clean water thanks to grants from various orgs.
The money will go, and has gone to basic international needs, such as:
1. India and Pakistan to help with the victims of the South Asian Earthquake.
2. Malawi, Mozambique, Ghana, Haiti, Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania to help with medical supplies for the sick and needy
3. Sending clothing and toys to needy children in the U.S
4. Investing in Clean Water Systems and filtration systems around the world.
5. Feeding the poorest villages in the world
"Below are some of the projects we have worked on recently:

12/21/06: Christmas Giving:
Christmas is a great time of year to help others who need it in the most basic ways that many of us take for granted. Every year I see more and more people becoming involved and wanting to spread smiles and care even If they don’t have 6 figure bank accounts to dig into. I think this is what is wonderful and what I created this Global Charity group for! To keep up my end of the bargain though I am making donations to the following causes:
1.Children’s Kits are being sent over to the victims of the South Asian Earthquake, which contain items such as cozy blankets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, food items, and toys. These supplies can improve children’s health and comfort, as well as offer a sense of stability they may have lost.
2.Worldwide, an estimated 300 million people — 50 percent of them children — are seriously ill due to intestinal worm infections. Worms can consume up to one-third of a child’s nutritional intake, cause anemia and stunting in growth, lead to irreversible organ damage, and even kill by blocking the intestines. We are sending $500 worth of one-dose deworming tablets and other vital pharmaceuticals to bring healing to suffering children and adults.
3.One of every six children in America lives in poverty. We are sending $600 of critical supplies such as brand-new clothing, diapers, blankets, household and personal care items, and toys to strengthen families and help provide children with a sense of hope and self-esteem.
4.Water sources at Angolan schools are often contaminated, causing frequent diarrheal infections that keep children out of class. We are supplying enough water treatment tablets to provide safe drinking water for up to 250 children for one year.
5.Innocent children and families in countries like Sudan, Uganda, and Burundi suffer chronic hunger as a result of armed conflict. Others go hungry when crops are destroyed by poor rainfall, locust invasions, etc. we are donating $900 worth of emergency food for those suffering the most.
Happy Holidays :)
----------------------------------------------------------- 10/9/06: One Year Anniversary, $21,081:
A year ago this facebook group was created, originally called 'Donations' for the purpose of raising awareness for the victims of the South Asian eathquake, as well as being able to send 4000 lbs of food and blankets to them. Now this is a global group, expanding to broaden many more facets where people may help one another through charity. Since this group has been created over 4000 lbs of food, and $21,081 of medical supplies, food, clothing and clean water has been sent and provided to those in need, all over the world. Thank you all soo much!
