Hello, I'm WonderGround. I'm a singer songwriter from St. Louis, MO. I used to skip rocks in the Mississippi River and catch lightning bugs in jars. Via Paris, Seoul, Milan, and Urbana, IL, I found my way to sunny Los Angeles, the hardest town ever to leave.
My band and I have just finished our second release, "The Winter '07 Inch." It's two winter themed songs on white vinyl, available for your taking at any of our shows. We also have an EP called "Become Water." This was our first recording and happened somewhere between 2005 and 2006. The EP led us to play some really cool shows, do some radio interviews, and be featured on the Phil Jupitus show on the BBC 6 in the UK.
In May '08 we will be going into the studio to record our first full length with our friend Aaron Espinoza of Earlimart. You can read reviews of our EP and learn more about us at these fine locations:
"Some of the catchiest tunes ever penned in the indie rock universe"- Smother
"A very impressive debut album indeed"- BluesMatters UK
"Low budget takes on the free-form organic experimentalism that The Beta Band produced on their first three EPs mixed with a slight Beatles obsession"- Joyzine UK
"Intelligent pop that's true to an indie-rock spirit"- 3Hive
"I want Wonder Ground to have a full length out soon; the EP is great.""- NeuFutur
"Become Water—the band’s debut EP—is five songs with a lo-fi pop fuzz to them, reflecting an almost slacker feeling that invokes Douglas Coupland or Jim Jarmusch rather than David Byrne."- Pop Matters
Our first release: "Become Water" (5 song ep)
Our second release: "The Winter '07 Inch" (7" on white vinyl)
