About Me

When you think of Alabama, you may think of the confederate flag, country ass people with two-part nicknames, and not to mention the cliche.. scene of dirt roads with chickens running through them. Go to some places in this state and in some cases you may be correct, but when you come to Montgomery, Alabama you will find a little of that and a culture of Hip-Hop music that is full of pain, anger and a search for victory. Making his name known in the streets of this city, there is an artist by the name of L-Gin who plays his part in this culture of music. Raised in this Civil city, he like every other Bama Native, was born into history. L-gin also calls himself the Ground-hog to represent the underground struggle on the underground level of music and life. With tracks like “Getting Gritty” to signify the dirt that is constantly dug threw, His unique voice delivers strongly and has a direct way of putting words into small teachings that at the same time attains the crowds attention, and even astounds the ears of hardest to please music critics. His debut track “Getting Gritty” aired on 97.9 jamz a local radio station in Montgomery in a local battle of the beats and was able to beat out some of the biggest names that the city had to offer. Not priding himself of that victory, He went on to perform at local clubs such as the “Rose Supper Cub”, Club “7-Days”and several other parties and functions throughout the city.In conquest to be heard, L-gin dropped his first mix cd called Ground -Hog Volume 1 with industry beats and tracks from his first experimental album called “My Turn“. That cd cited him his props as a knowledgeable rapper, but it wasn’t until he dropped his Ground-Hog Volume 2 mix cd that created his fan base throughout Alabama and other places such as Jacksonville Florida, Tallahassee, Florida with the help of Liquid Fire Promotions and flyers and One Night Stand Entertainment. Not stopping there, he linked up with Real Serious Promotions in Austin, Texas ran by Lorraine Moore. He created a fan base in the ever popular state of Texas. With beats fueled and created by industry level Producer Dr. Fangaz, who aided in the help of the rap group “Dirty” being signed to Universal Records, L-Gin gained street love with his track produced by Dr. Fangaz, “GIRBAUDS”. With Southern flavor tracks like “She Wanna Ride” and “G Holiday” which is featured on his fourth cd called “Strictly For the Dj’s, L-Gin again gains more fan base and is accredited status as a well molded rapper.L-gin again amazes the city in a local battle of the beats with his track “My Table” that aired on 97.9 Jamz of Montgomery that received club play and some radio play in Atlanta Georgia. This track was made by Marcus of Itaprize Recordings which was run by Khao aka the Grand-Hustle Beat Maker of Grand-Hustle/Atlantic. “My Table” Was also certified by Dj Aaries and Dj Twyst, formerly Legion of Doom Djs, but are now the leaders of the Hood Hard Djs movement in Atlanta, Georgia. Though not signed, this independent artist has never settled for less. L-Gins’ consultants have respect for his say so and input into his career. L-gin cites “If your management can’t respect your career decisions that will dynamically shape how your life comes out, then you don’t need them”. L-gin represents an artist of patience with a will to get things done. With diverse tracks and hooks that perform themselves. L-gin is a well balanced artist who is well on his way to wowing the music industry and cementing his name into hip-hops greatest name book!
