As an artist flo's style is irrepressibly funky, dynamic, intoxicatingly
fresh and is in essence what makes his energy, lyrics and music stand out in
a crowd.Born and raised in Barbados, his early life was spent in a variety of
vibrant and lively cities, including New York, Toronto, Manchester, Harare
and most recently London.
As an artist flo's expression is original, having grown from his roots in
old school hip hop and budding into a distinct and wider style that is
constantly evolving within the very different genres of music he has
explored. Preferring never to adhere to the stereotypical or expected. Flo
enjoys surprising and taking new routes into the unexplored corners of his
own and his collaborators experience.Flo, started emceeing when he was nine (aah! :) and in his mid
teens had already signed his first recording contract, touring with Roll
Wit' It Entertainment. After his stint in Oakland California with RWI, flo
decided to return to Barbados, where after numerous Pa's he received
numerous awards, in categories such as Best New Artist and Rapper of the
Year. Since then flo has moved on, headlining at the University of
Westminster's (Soul Brothers & Sista's night; appearing on DJ Kwame's
show on BBC One Extra: Home-grown and winning, appearing regularly on
DJ 279's Choice FM show Friday Night Flavas, appearing on the well known
program "Flava of the Month" and has participated in British hip hop icons
Jonzi D's and fellow hip hop artist Ty's "Apricot Jam" as well as DJ Pogo's
Lyrical Lounge. Added to this Flo has opened for Miss Dynamite on her
national tour, and has toured with legends De La Soul.More recently Flo has recorded an album (release date to be confirmed) with
Carsten Kroeyer of CK Productions , which is a fusion of all kinds of music
and is bound to please.., so sit back, relax and let your head nod!
