About Me

HotFreeLayouts I am a 41 year old songwriter/guitarist.I started out like most musical kids, I beat on my mom's tupperware, was kicked off the piano so my sister could practice and could pick out a tune on almost any instrument I could find. My first musical memory is playing the 45 record of Jumpin' Jack Flash on my close and play record player.I played my first gig on bass when I was 10. Then, when I was 11, I joined my music teacher's band on trumpet and played my first real world gigs.I started playing in rock bands when I was 13 and have been ever since. I played all over in a 300 mile radius of Omaha, everything from bass, guitar, keyboards, lead vocals and even once, the drums. I was a full time musician from 16-20. I have played in 15 states and have recorded albums in LA and New York.I went to recording school in LA in 1985 and played many gigs there. I recorded my first album with Owen Tirre and recorded many solo efforts as well there.I opened a recording studio with my friend, Tim Rayer, called Eclipse in 1991. We recorded many albums and ran the sound at the Capitol Bar. I feel that we helped to break open the Omaha music scene and enjoyed being a functional part of a golden age of music there. In 1995, I was a co-founder of the band, Moment Of Release. We played over 700 shows in 10 states and recorded 3 albums. We moved to Denver from Omaha in 1998 and disbanded in 2002.I currently am a songwriter living in the mountains above Denver and play with the band Stanky Pockets and am working on some solo acoustic shows as well as recording the songs that come blowing in on the wind.
