Lenny Savage has been inspired by various styles such as Rock N Roll, Folk, 80's Pop, New Romantic and Acoustic Rock.
Originally from Enfield, North London where she was brought up with her elder sister and her parents. It wasn't until the age of around 9 that she became interested in music. Sure, her mother swamped her with 80's pop music and musicals but it didn't quite click until then. Not coming from a specifically musical family, she had to motivate herself to practice and learn her first instrument, the guitar.
Lenny aims to be a respected singer / songwriter and produce music that not only she enjoys but her audience does too, which is always a tricky one. She is always trying to phrase lyrics and rhythms just to give something different to the listener.
She has always been interested in different styles of music and was introduced to Folk music at the age of 13 when she joined a local youth folk band called 'The Acorns'... actually she is still a member and now one of the oldest, "they'll never get rid of me!"
She's been playing live since she was 13. "The Acorns really boosted my self confidence and allowed me to enjoy playing live. Dave Francis was the one who first spotted my potential and got me singing, even if it was a Dolly Parton song!"
Now living just outside Bristol, new opportunities have opened up for Lenny, especially since she has been studying music at Weston College.
"When first hearing the music of Lenny Savage, one may be forgiven for drawing comparisons to classic folk icons like Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez, but upon taking the time to listen further, one will realise that her music draws upon must vaster influences, including Gypsy rhythms and Jazz-tinged melodies; all thrown in to a melting pot with her own inimitable style to create her own, original sound, complete with modern pop sensibility." - James Bennett, Elysium
"With her strong and melancholic vocals, and deeply personal folk rock songs. Lenny is a striking presence on stage. She can captivate you with a glance and holds audiences hostage with her songs of life and love. Wise and wonderful, she’s got it all." Xpress Records
