Joseph was born in Nashville, TN, moving to the Tampa Bay, FL area in 87'. Playing trumpet from age 8, he developed a profound love for music and in particular, the trumpet. Joe graduated high school in 92' from the PCCA in St. Petersburg. After college in Indiana, he joined the United States Marine Corps as a trumpet player. After 4 years of service, Joe left the Corps as an E-5 Sergeant with a Navy Achievement and a National Service medal and moved to Washington, DC to pursue a career as a free-lance musician. Currently, enjoying life, and performing everything from jazz, 'lead', R&B, latin, gospel, sectional work, studio, fusion to classical, and giving instuctional lessons to all age groups.
Recent live recordings, performances and tours have been with the Brotherton Trio, J&J Jazz project, the late Ricky Loza (percussionist), Thad Wilson Jazz Orchestra, the Cricket (free jazz band), CRISTOS (reggae artist), the Rodney Richardson Quintet, Sound Connection, Touch Acoustra - www.acoustra.com ), The Mustangs (classic R&B-- www.mustangsband.com ), Karina (Theivery Corp), Orchestra Projecto de Verny Varela, Greg Karukas, La Leyenda (Latin big band & small group), Alfonso Velez & "the American Dream", Diane Daley, and the Brotherton Quintet.
