Aaron on the Side of Caution

Happy musicians, happy politicians....happiness pie-ie-ie---

About Me

There are a few choice things that make me happy and I would like to speak upon those. My bicycle makes me incredibly happy. Tennis with friends also makes me happy. Farmers' markets render me downright glee-ful. Good lovin' makes me damn near ecstatic. Making sloppy musical soundscapes earns me the beatitude of creating something. Listening to the music of friends and those I admire is jazzyphatnastynice. Writing gives me a reason to believe it is possible for people to still read, and maybe, to read more than quick-flash soundbytes, though I see both sides of this and stay up-beat. The notion of thinking independently of what is spoon-fed causes cautious optimism. Pretty pictures tingle the insides. Really gross, sick, crude, warped, 'nothing is sacred' expressions emotive of evil thoughts and tendencies embedded within the subconscious but put into the air so as to not repress their existence in nature can elicit insidious yet pleasure-affirming self-chuckles and the life-affirming reality of certain human pitfalls and the tragedy of the lived experience that is sad sweet and beautiful if you approach it in the right manner. TV on DVD cuts out commercials, waiting for something that's not worth it to culminate into a subsequent episode and, in general, the middle man, thus comprising a vital component of my happiness. Remembrance and longing for Iowa, Chicago, the Midwest and the family and friends who still inhabit these locales makes me happy. Oakland and the Bay make me happy. Lake Merritt makes me swell with a certain pride regarding the enjoyment of my current locus and sphere of operation. The Oakland Public Library a block from my house makes me feel smart and someday I hope to read one of their books. My nephews are some down-ass little homies and my brothers and sister in law are freakin' awesome. Things I don't know I want to know and find the time to look into, learn and know makes me happy. Believing there is more to be learned makes me happy. Wondering about things human beings may never know makes me happy. The right sandwich can make my day. The fact that I have met only maybe a handful of burritos in my life that I have not adored makes me believe unabashedly in the salient potential kinetic energy that is humanity. A satiated gut can best atest to its own best instinct and a mind that has known the rest of the previous evening feeling space to dream in the daytime while executing the necessities of task hearken toward the promise of perhaps sustainable happy contentedness. Oxygen makes me happy. I breathe inspiration from these things.
