When I Was 18 Years Old, I Was Contacted By A Cat Who Had Heard Some Of My Instrumentalz In New York. So, I Was Flown Out To New York To Meet Up With Him. When I Got There He Took Me To A Place In Manhattan Called "The Weight Room." There I Met A Cat By The Name Of Charles Farrar. Charles Had Written And Produced Songs For Some Very Big Artists And Had Multiple Platinum And Gold Records Hanging On The Wall (Not To Mention A Grammy Winner).At The Time... I Was Blown Away By The Situation That I Was In Because I Had Just Started Producing Instrumentalz And Was Not At All Prepared To Deliver What I Believe They Had In Mind For Me Or For The Future I Could Have Had With Them (I Needed To Grow And Perfect My Skills As Producer). But To Get The Type Of Feedback From Those Cat's Was Just Incredibly Overwhelming. I Knew Right Then And There I Had Long Journey Ahead Of Me In The Music Business.Seeing How Those Cat's Operated From The Behind The Scenes Approach, From Pencil To The Paper, To Recording On Million Dollar Boards, Gave Me Vision And An Understanding That I Have Applied Everyday When Writing, Producing And Recording Here In The Chi. They Also Brought Me To Place Called The "Big Skate Key" Where They Introduced Me To Afrika Bambatta At Zulu Nation's Anniversary Party. Fortunately, I Had The Chance To Speak With Him For About An Hour That Night. He Had Given Me Incredible Advise About My Future And Wisdom From His Previous Experiences. Most Importantly, I Had The Ability To Understand And See First Hand What The Roots Of Hip-Hop Were And Where It Came From (However, Many In Hip-Hop Will Argue The Origin).The Biggest And Hardest Obstacle For Me In The Music Business Is Actually The Fact That I'm Not A Child From The Streets. However, I Do Produce Hip-Hop And R&B. I'm Part Native American, Swedish And German. So Just By Looking At Me, One In The Business Would Tend To Think That I Couldn't Understand The Culture Of The Music Or Be Able To Produce It Because I'm Not From It... And The Only Thing That I Can Say To Those People Is Simply
"I Am The Culture Of This Music Whether They Know It Or Apply Race As Factor" I Have Been Schooled By The Best, I Surround Myself By Only The Best, I'm Educated In Sound And Studio Engineering And I Know There Is No Color In Music.I Also Know That Most Of The People That Actually Work In The "Music Business" Don't Even Have Anything To Do With The Creation Of Music, Don't Have My Background And Are Only In The Positions They Are In Because Of Their Connections And Not Because Of There Abilities To Produce It Or Truly Understand It (Unless Of Course Your Up Till 4 Or 5 In The Morning Making It).I Truly Pity Anyone That Denies Future Connections Inside The Business And Does Not Understand This Concept. For They Are The Reason Why Great Music Is Never Heard By Those Who Should Be Hearing It.When Someone Say's"Oh He's The Truth"Well..I Know What That Means Do You?
