Dj Duke at Bed Longtable Thursday nightsHello everyone, my name is DJ Duke. I represent the Kingdom of Thailand, the beautiful city of Chicago, and the good people of Planet Earth. I was born in Bangkok, Thailand, but moved to Chicago at the age of 3.I am a “Party Rocker†or Professional Tour DJ. I have been chosen to travel around the world channeling the energies that make people dance and shake what they got, because life is way too short. I play all types of music, too many to write about. I have played with a many people famous and no so famous that have inspired me to do what I do.My job is to spread love through music.I have opened for the Crystal Method, played alongside many top DJs and have been a DJ on the Vans Warped Tour. I don’t have an official CD; because it’s way better to see me do it live :DI am going to build a school for underprivileged children in the Isan province of Thailand called Buoy-Luum (I can’t write Thai and don’t know the correct English spelling, sorry). It is a poor country province in Thailand with very little in means of education, so I thought a school would be the best choice, but I can’t do it by myself, so I travel the world playing parties and meeting wonderful people to make this project reality and to also tell people about Thailand and what a wonderful country it is. I would love for everyone to visit Thailand and see a beautiful country with beautiful people. You will be amazed at amazing Thailand. If you would like to support what I do, you can book me to play your party or event, I am not shy and I will get on the mic! I will travel to any place in the world, but you will have to help me get there and make sure I have a place to stay. You can contact me at
[email protected], if I don’t answer for a few days, please don’t take it personally, I am in constant transit. I will try to answer all, but it could take a few days.Peace & Love

__________________For people that need a more detailed description, please read the very long passage below.Thailand born and American raised, DJ Duke has been dropping beats and
inducing uncontrollable dance all around the planet for over a decade. But before breaking out onto the international circuit, early in his career Duke prided himself on staying true to his hometown, a veritable global hub of music and arts, Chicago USA.
In 1997 his flowing style and adaptive beats were introduced to the world in the VIP lounge at the old China Club. A raging exclusive club in the heart of Chicago’s packing district. Duke was the resident DJ until the clubs legendary ill-fated passing in 1998.
Duke finished up ‘98 ruling the VIP lounge at Excalibur, still one of the most diverse and intense night clubs in Chicago.
As word began to spread and his street cred was building more and more venues wanted in on his talent. Chicago’s foremost high-so sushi bar was the first mainstream venue to nab DJ Duke for the weekends during ’99 and 2000 giving him free reign to experiment with the most modern house and trip hop downtempo of the new decade.
Never limiting himself, DJ Duke has always looked for new ways to introduce and merge mediums. It’s this spirit of adventure combined with a unique musical innovativeness that led Duke to showcase his talent both behind and beyond the turntables. In ’99 he got his first opportunity to venture out into the world of various developing arts. Collaborating with Columbia College, the Chicago Art Institute, and the Design Institute of Chicago, Duke organized Chicago’ first Underground Fashion Show exhibiting designs by fashion gurus Panduleni and Allison Leigh.
News of his diverse interests inspired Dubshack Studios, a film, music, and arts production studio in Chicago, to sign on Duke as resident DJ in 2000. At Dubshack Duke found a freedom that allowed him to step out and experiment and display mastery in the art of mixing styles like reggae, drum-n-bass, jungle, hip-hop, and soul funk that blew people away.
Dukes North American break out came in 2004 when he was asked to jump on-board with some of the biggest names and up and comings in the punk rock and hip hop industry as resident DJ for the Van’s Warped tour. Hitting the biggest cities in the US and Canada - Atlanta, Miami, Toronto, NY, San Fran, Orlando, Chicago, Milwaukee, Charlotte, B.C., L.A., Dallas, Nashville, etc. – Duke played alongside such acts as Good Charlotte, Third Eye Blind, Green Day, NOFX, Atmosphere, and so many more.
With horizons broadening ‘04, Duke showed off his versatility when he played with the New Millenium Orchestra during the opening ceremonies of the 2004 Undershorts Film Festival at the Congress Theater in Chicago. He then was commissioned to be official DJs with the Abominable Twitch for Neuros Technology LLC – the world’s first and only open-sourced hardware company. He later that year teamed up again with Warp Records, a company representing such names as Aphex Twin, and Square Pusher, to perform at the premier of Warp Vision: The Videos – the labels first-ever DVD collection, featuring the best of Warp promos from '89 to the present day including works from such artists as Chris Cunningham, Alex Rutterford and David Slade alongside directors such as Lynn Fox, Pleix, Ed Holdsworth and Laurent Briet.
In 2005 Duke held residency and played alongside Alex Grey at Entheon Village, the largest camp at the annual Burning Man festival, an annual experiment in temporary community dedicated to radical self-expression and self-reliance. Attracting a crowd of over 35,600, the 20th Anniversary of Burning Man is known as one of its greatest years to date.
Duke finished up ’05 with a bang acting as DJ and musical director for the ResFest’s first ever official after party. As one of the most prestigious digital film festivals in the world, ResFest showcases the most cutting edge artists touting creations spanning the globe from Tokyo to New York.
2006 saw Duke bring it back to where it all began when he received an impressive welcoming in Bangkok, Thailand. Hooking up with DJ Spydamonkee, the pair teamed up with resident DJ DJ Jedie at the Swisshotel’s famous Syn Bar and then again at Café de Moc on Kao Sahn Road.
Over the last two years, with guest spots at Route 66, Jazz It, and a residency at Big Easy Café Duke has been exploring new ways of combining eastern attitude with western versatility to create a sound irresistible to the cultured music lover.
