still to be finished....but here..s an idea. xxxDario was born on a cold 31st December 1975 in Turin, Italy. Since little, his music side is clear. At five, he loves the opera (often he starts singing the Barber of Seville around the house with headphones on) and show interest in the drums world. Mom Pinuccia and dad Toto.. eventually buy him a toy “Mickey Mouse” kit, which does not survive long to his continuous hitting - for the happiness of mom and dad. Dario is already in love and plays the classics of rock (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Marillion, Yes…) on his bed, on the table… wherever he can hit his sticks on. At the beginning of college, he meets Sid Terry, and his life will not be the same again. Lots of people wonder who he might would have become, but no one can guess… anyway he meet Sid e he is hit by a new force… love for Jim Morrison, Litfiba (a major Italian rock band) and freedom in general take and transform him in a free spirit who plays drums. His first band, of course, is the Flowers of Dustbin, which (on their point of view) means “flowers that are different than rubbish”, but which in English does not mean anything at all, or, if you really push it, would be “flowers made of rubbish”. They play punk, more as a form of protest and because they cannot really play anything more difficult. His first gig, on a 14th of June 1990, in a school, ends up with the cops that stop it. To make them leave, the cops switched off all electric instruments… but to make Dario stop they had to take the kit off his ass!!! During this time the nickname that Dario still wear nowadays is born, Derma. Sid and Silver, front man of Flowers, for the way Dario plays drums, give it to him… “Like you have the drums under your skin”… (Derma in Greek means skin). Few gigs here and there, few cover bands around, but is not until 1995 that Dario starts again in a kind of serious project. Guess whom? Of course, Sid again, and the Flowers, that now play crossover and, except for Dario and Sid, are all new faces. Even the name is slightly changed from Flowers of Dustbin in Flowers from Dustbin… trying to get the right translation of what they want to mean… wrongly again. Gigs everywhere, pubs, medium size venues, colleges… emergenza rock… the flowers are one of the most successful emerging rock band in Turin, and they record a song for a compilation compiled for the Japanese market from Turin label Dumbo Records… Figlio del Sole (son of the sun). there's who thinks this is the start of a long and wealthy career always dreamed, but it is the end of the band. Who become big headed, who simply screw up… at the end, everyone takes his way and goodnight. Dario, more then anything else, starts rehearsing in his cellar, playing songs from fusion and progressive rock bands, building up his skills. He also plays in minor bands, put together a band with mates of his, (M.I.T.O.) and play few gigs but nothing major. The only music Dario is doing in 2001 is a Dream Theater cover band, so he decide to try his luck abroad and goes to England. It takes a bit until Dario finds a serious band… if you think that he does not know anybody in England, does not speak English and has little money with him, you can easily say that is a miracle he survived at all!.. However, at the end he finds a rock band to play with, “The Treat”. TT is the first serious Dario’s band in England, even though he played with several more or less interesting characters (from whom Pierre, with who he will later start a band…). They have a debut album out, an independent label, and their own songs and few gigs to play in Oxford and London. However, the front man is very very big headed, nobody likes him around nor wants to play for him (if not for money…), and became harder and harder to deal with. Even though Dario brings to the band freshness and energy that were missing before and even though Dario is a popular guy around Oxford and therefore has his own fan base that brings the band to another level, the situation gets worse and worse. They end during the recordings of the new album tracks: Dario is simply left home unpaid and they even steal his arrangements for new record’s songs. Not too bad, isn’t it… naturally Dario starts again right away looking for a band, and finds a cover band… The Red Soul Brigade. Mainly a funk-soul cover band, formed by other 7 highly skilled musicians, and from the start gigs are fun as never before and success are one after another. The band plays for private parties, in front of crowds that dance on every song and do not let them go until they play at least two or 3 encores. A promotional video is shot, and is up on the website along with a promo audio file. Other than musical and economical satisfaction, at last, somebody can see Dario’s value as a musician, and this brings new energies to start again an original rock project… The HOUSE OF BLUE DOLLS. The heart of the band is the same as the brigade, Dario on drums, James on bass, Patrick on main guitar. Pierre comes back from Germany to play in the band, plays guitar, sings and writes songs. The last touch is Alex, a non-professional singer that gives completion to the sound and helps Pierre having more space to play guitar. they record a demo with 4 songs, then the members count starts. people quit, people join, until we actually play 4 gigs and are ready to record again. but the band is not anymore that hot, and dario quits for good, the dolls stop existing. so dario, that meanwhile had joined a band called THE MILE HIGH YOUNG TEAM, start looking for a serious band.THE MILE HIGH YOUNG TEAM is a 7 piece band who plays a mix of folk/funk/prog rock. the musicianship is excellent, the music, written by colin the genious, is brilliant and they start working together very well. 4 songs are recorded, EP will be out very soon, and few very succesfull gigs are played both in oxford and london. But Dario is not happy with only one band, so he audition and join transmission, a band that has a unique sound and a male voice that dario loves to bits. creating new songs and working at old tunes is enjoyable and the chemistry between them is unbelievable..so expect gigs very soon, and expect them to be very intense!!!!and the story continues
