'BABY GRAVY (Oxford) Echos of classic angry post-punkers like Mo-dettes and Slits abound in Baby Gravy's barbed instrumentation and caustic vocal, the 'in your face' ranting of Iona Roisin (ex of riot teen queens Harlette) out front. Twin basses rumble along in punky but dance-able grooves underpinned by primal drum pounding. As if that's not enough the addition of Cecilia White's Sax gives a skewed new wave/no wave slant and occasional nervous synth-lines take it even further out. One year in and with numerous shows under their belt and the self produced debut E.P 'Well done Mary-Ellen, You're A Dance Teacher Now' Baby Gravy are at the forefront of girl powered angry artrock alongside the likes of Shrag, Help She Can't Swim, 586, Das Wanderlust and Fight Like Apes.'
