About Me

Hmmm, what to write without sounding like a either a psycho or an ass.
From what I've seen around here I'm pretty average:
slightly wacky, self-professed techie, TV junkie, and I'm sooo ready for life after grad school. Or any life....at all. LMAO Former Navy brat, though never overseas; I attended nine schools before college. While my own creative skills are pretty much nonexistent, I've been surrounded by artists and people with other geniuses since birth. I love the excitement and fire that painters, sculptors, photographers, musicians and dancers bring to everyday life.
I'm an Information Professional (ha, sounds better than Librarian) and truly more interesting than JUST that. I like great martial arts films, a great Pizza and Vodka candy. I LOVE to travel, though haven't done much recently, and I aspire to live in Bangkok, at some point in my life.
Hmmm, more disclosure you ask? I was a bored loner in High School. I like 'Dull stuff' like literature, geology (that's rocks people, along with its ladyfriend Jewelry!) and art. I also 'cool stuff' like headbanger rock, the ocean, camping, hiking, sailing, horseback riding, rock climbing (if I ever get the chance to go!), body boarding, dancing until your feet fall off, and partying until the sun comes up. If I ever have the time, I'll either go back to school for a law degree or another masters in Computer Science or Geology. I love animals, used to volunteer at the local Zoo and worked the the marine mammals (got to have a baby dolphin show me his belly button! LOL) and worked with a vet practice.
I LOVE LUV LOVE dancing of any type, as I will forever be a Dancer at heart. I spent nearly 14 years of my life in a studio. I think, talk, and listen to music like a dancer. Now, if only I still looked like a dancer!LOL
Contract law is also something that has peaked my interest recently; a former classmate went to Yale Law, and my great-uncle was a NYC Civil Court Judge. Lawyer jokes aside, I admire what these people do, and think we could all benefit from some training in what they learn in school. Vcommie as well. :)
The Meaning of Apsonsi: So that I don't spend my days answering messages explaining this, an Apsonsi is a creature from Thai myth, and is a sort of half-woman, half-lion creation. A friend suggested the nickname when I mentioned t my interest in all things Thai, and it's certainly unique enough. The one featured in my avatar is from Wat(Temple) Phra Ceo.

My mom is at the top of that list; She's been a career woman and Nurse for 35-odd years, and still managed to fit in Scouts, Dance, and Violin Lessons, Volleyball practice, Horseback riding, arts and crafts, her own artwork, yet still managed to find time to become a massage therapist AND pass those skills on to a slightly weirded out 13 yr old who read Tarot cards, and did polarity and acupressure work before she ever drove!
