Sonny Black is an MC originally from Brooklyn, New York. A respected lyricist, he became known on the streets for his freestyles and battling skills. He began making underground mixtapes while living in the Bronx, with a loosely-knit group of MC's known as the BX Click. His flow developed as he was forced to survive on his own, constantly moving from several different sections of Queens, to Uptown Manhattan, living on one of the most notorious blocks in Washington Heights. He's performed in shows from the Bronx to Philadelphia, always bringing down the house with his commanding voice, presence, raw lyrics and delivery. His debut "Son of NY" Mixtape was well-recieved in 2006, earning him a loyal following. Standout tracks like "Victory 06", "Victim Freestyle", "Don't Be a Body", and "Moroccan Hash" showcased his unique style, and provided what real hiphop heads were missing. He is still an underground force to be reckoned with and now working on his second mixtape, tentatively titled, "Always Bet on Black".
