When you think your toys have gone beserk it's an illusion you cannot shirk

About Me

So much to know, so little space to tell it in. Here's the condensed version. I'm a loyal friend and patient listener. I'm affable, eager to please and be pleased, and fairly tolerant. I'm passionate yet reserved. I'm calm yet tormented. Family and friends are most important to me, yet I still cherish small doses of alone time. In short, I am a dichotomy.

Learning new vocabulary, thunderstorms, current events, flying kites and enjoying fine Belgian beers are just a few of my favorite things. I'm a self avowed ice-cream junkie, fine wrist watch enthusiast, and unabashed pervert. Those who know me can attest to my addiction to gadgetry. Want more? All you have to do is ask.

My Interests

Rough Sex, date night, assorted perversions, enjoying my beloved Biyana's scrummily cooking, photography, reading, writing (primarily prose, but some poetic verse as well), keeping journals, scrapbooking, candles, incense, dipping my finger in candle wax and then peeling it off and rolling it up into a little ball, staring into fire, Edward Gorey, dark and spooky things, Autumn, Halloween, apple picking on a crisp autumn day, extreme weather, flying kites, hiking, mountain biking, camping, climbing trees, whitewater rafting, kayaking, traveling, secluded tropical beaches, basking in the sun, skinny dipping, snorkeling, meteor showers, thunderstorms, blizzards, snowball fights, warm fuzzy mittens on a cold winter's day, sleeping naked tucked into jersey cotton sheets, wandering around the house in old comfy pajamas, Trumpers Limes shaving cream, pressing my face against a window, making my sweetheart laugh, inside jokes, being silly, belgian beer, massage, tickling, snuggling with my beloved, sensory deprivation, Einstein, Theory of Relativity, adrenaline, ice cream, italian ice, sweet treats, computers, web design, programming and other assorted geekery, making lists, MontBlanc spurs

I'd like to meet:

Old friends with whom I've lost contact. Stealth exhibitionists, ninja mayonnaise, sexual acrobats, and pillow summoning sorcerers. Voyeurs.

Music:

My all time favorite band is Dead Can Dance. Lisa Gerrard's side projects are favorites as well. I really enjoy too many bands to list by name. Favored Genres include Goth, Industrial, EBM, Synthpop, Eighties New Wave and on occasion some ambient techno.

Movies:

All time favorites include (but not limited to): Secretary, Henry and June, Edward Scissorhands, Memento, Following, Zero Effect, Amelie, Clerks, Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I recently saw Closer and was actually quite impressed (and not simply because I got to see Natalie Portman almost naked).

I truly admire independent film director Hal Hartley. Some of his films that I love are: Amateur, Henry Fool, The Unbelievable Truth, Simple Men and Truth.

I enjoy special effects blockbusters for what they are. Movies that touch me on a deeper level seem to stay with me though.

Television:

Family Guy, Kids in the Hall, Monty Python, South Park, Adult Swim, Rome, The Sopranos, History Channel, Discovery, TLC, Comedy Central, The Weather Channel, The Military Channel, Biography, Sundance and Tech-Tv.

Network television bores the living bejesus out of me. What we really need is ala-carte cable television. Someone.... Anyone... Beuller?

My childhood memories of television are the best. I loved Buck Rogers, Land of the Lost, Star Blazers, Space Ghost, The A-Team and Knight Rider. Extra points of coolness to anyone who can share the memory of a short run series called Cliffhangers. I really miss that show. Thank the heavens above for Netflix. Now I can watch all of them until my heart's content.

Books:

My favorite all time author is Henry Miller. I'm also a big fan of Anais Nin and Anne Rice.

David Sedaris, Chuck Palahniuk, Edgar Allan Poe, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Shakespeare, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs, Ernest Hemingway, Robert Frost, Nigel Calder

Heroes:

First and foremost my friends and family. My Wife Biyana. My darling daughter Eliana. Pimp Van Driver. Bernard Getz.
