Band Bio: FREE GRASS UNION EST. 2000 ... heres the truth and nothing but the truth...greg and i (kim ... your humble nararator)... have made music since kindergarten... our first gig was at the playground ... east of the monkey bars ...after years of making music together we quit doing it for the public...we were getting our kicks in the early months of 2000...making music in my garage... greg on harmonica ... and me on guitar and this crumby olde tambourine... duct-taped to an even worse high-hat stand...my lord did we have a great time ...until the space heater broke... so we started playing at this crumby bar in copaigue... greg was dating the bartender... the people there hated everything that they could see...except cocaine and hard liquour.. we'll they hated us... since we'd never made a nickle... or even got a free drink... or even a hot wing ... and i almost got beaten up... IT WAS TIME FOR A NEW PLAN... I MEET THIS GIRL WHO BROKE MY HEART... AND SMASHED MY GUITAR TO BITS... GOOD THING WE NEVER GOT INTO AN ARGUEMENT OR ANYTHING...WELL SHE HAD THIS FRIEND (WHO IS THE FIRST MEMBER OF FGU FAMILY) WHO BROUGHT US DOWN TO THIS BAR @ 422 WEST MAIN ST. IN PATCHOGUE... IT LOOKED LIKE A HOUSE... BUT NOT SO CLEAN (just kiddin' steve)... STEVE THE OWNER WAS AWAY SO LIZ (next inducted into fgu fam!) TOLD US TO COME DOWN ON WED. NIGHT FOR OPEN MIC... WE REALIZED THAT LIZ WOULD GIVE US BEER AS LONG AS WE KEPT PLAYING... WE WERE HOME... HERE WE ARE 7 CRAZY YEARS LATER... WE'VE PLAYED WITH DAVID (DAWG) GRISMAN ALONG WITH HIS SON SAMSON... AND RICKY SCAGGS AND KENTUCKY THUNDER... THE ZEN TRICKSTERS ... TONY VACCA & WORLD RHYTHMS... DONNA JEAN (of the dead...) TOM RUSH (woodstock) ... BUZZ UNIVERSE ... KARMA SUTRA ... MECCA BODEGA ... THE HOMEGROWN STRING BAND ... BUDDY & BACKROADS ...RECKONING... THE ELECTRIX... JOHN EDWARDS ... DUB SIDE OF THE MOON ... RYAN MONTEBLEU... MOVEMENT...
