Justas Fresh

It all started in 1998, when 2Fresh took his chance in his first national DMC DJ Competition called „Hiphop non stop“ where he won his first title – 1st place. Now DJ 2Fresh is one of the few masters of scratch in Lithuania. He practices his skills on vinyls of jazz, hiphop, original funk/soul, new skool beats. 2Fresh was in the Top 3 of Lithuanian DJs for several times, and it is good proof of his talent. 2F became a member of Boogaloo Lithuania Crew and gradually Boogaloo became a well known brand, and unfolded into large extremely popular parties, as well started to collaborate with various organizations, like British Council, Lithuanian Contemporary Arts Centre, Goethe Institute and others organizing and performing at cultural events, shows and exhibitions etc. What describes the atmosphere at Boogaloo parties it’s the total joy, which comes from various acts, including dance, sing, show at the decks and other. Live performers and artists often join the party actively participating. And all this mixes into already crazy mix of samples, scratches, covers, bootlegs and mash-ups which play Boogaloo. Besides the fact, that Boogaloo parties are joined by other artists, Boogaloo themselves participate in other music projects, like A.I.R. Artists in residence, project of free thinking artists or live playing band Brass Bastardz. In 2007 2Fresh was one of a founders of nu-jazz community called Mondayjazz.com, which presents new virtual LP on every Monday. It’s a careful selection of newjazzbreakfunkfusion hiptriphopbrokendubsoul beats and it happens to be alternative for the mass pseudo-culture.
