Son of Dork is a pop/rock band out of England. Co-founder of the band Steve Rushton had this to say about the band's sound: "It's as close to rock as pop can get. People consider Simple Plan and Good Charlotte as rock, but these songs are rockier than their songs, and the lyrics are ten times better than their lyrics."
The band has released a successful album, Welcome to Loserville , two successful singles, Ticket Outta Loserville , and Eddie's Song , and was on the soundtrack to the recent Ant and Dec movie Alien Autopsy .

Movies:

The band's name actually came from a line in the movie Problem Child . This is what the band's co-founder James Bourne had to say: "I was in Canada on a chair lift and I was just thinking about Charlie leaving Busted and how I'd have to get another band and I didn't know what to call it. A scene from 'Problem Child' was in my head, where he's on a baseball field and he's missing all the balls and the whole team are shouting 'son of dork.' I just thought that would be cool because it sounds good when its chanted. It suited what we're about nd it suits our songs down to the ground. It's just a perfect name for the band. I watch a lot of loser movies."*

In an interview with CD:UK Dave Williams mentioned that James made the band watch the movie over and over and over again so he could point out the part where he got the name from.
