Band Members: Julia Ingalls-Lead/Backing Vocals, Flute, Percussion, (and sometimes guitar/keyboard!) My singing style favors soul and R&B. I love Gospel music and use it not only as inspiration for the spirit (regardless of the religion), but for vocal style and intensity, as well. I continue to make way through learning guitar and kepyboards, but am much more comfortable on vocals and flute! I'm a little high strung, but that's how I like it. Ask me about my Yoga Fitness classes!Brian Lord-Lead/Backing Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica, Mouth Trumpet. Brian also writes music and has a succesful recording home studio, often called in the middle of the night for Pro Tools emergencies! Brian's playing style ranges from funky rhythm guitar to all out rock to a country-esk slide guitar feel. He engineered, mixed/mastered, and co-produced my original CD, helping "Ms. Don't Do Computers Well" learn a bit about recording along the way. "Didn't Want to Go" was co-written by Brian, as well. In his playing, he adapts like a chameleon, never losing integrity. Currently, Brian is growing a beard like I've never seen on him before. So if you know some birdies who need a home, for a small price that can live in Brian's beard--at least until he shaves.Damon Warmack-Bass, Backing/Scat vocals. Damon also writes music and is an utter encyclopedia of music trivia. His funk/jazz style keeps the vibe just right. Though shy about his voice, he also can carry vocally, as heard during his kick-ass bass/vocal solos. Don't get him started on Star Wars, though.Jerome Day-Drums/Comedic Relief. Formerly with the Howling Diablos and now, Uncle Kracker, we are happy to use Jerome up whenever he is back in Michigan. Jerome also writes music and plays a bit of guitar, himself. His overall sensitivity and appreciation for all instruments, make him one of the best live and, for sure, studio players, I have ever personally experienced! He is on every song, but one on my CD. Not to mention, he makes me laugh and blow beer out of my nose.Chuck Navyac-Drums. We are also lucky to have Chuck play on drums for us both live and on the original album. Chuck has his degree in drums from the University of Michigan and holds a wonderful combination of technicality and intuitive feel. Chuck is always a joy to play with and executes many styles well from jazz to soul to rock to weird-ass avante gard stuff. Best of all, Chuck laughs at my jokes.
Influences: Our influences are many: Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Steely Dan, The Police, Nikka Costa, Ian Moore, Neil Young, Earth Wind and Fire, Marcus Miller, John Coltrane, Miles, Elvis Costello, etc.!!!!
Sounds Like: The sound of BusStop and my stuff is a fun, soulful and intelligent mix R&B/Rock with a sometimes jazz edge. The sounds are reflective of some of our influences like Chaka Khan, Steely Dan, Sly Stone, and the Police. The best thing to do is just play the sample songs!
