With underground rock music, Up Magazine is aiming at stoner, punk, rock 'n' roll, new metal, hardcore, sleazerock, emo, metal, noise and all possible varieties to such. If you want to know what’s going on in alternative rock, Up’s the magazine to read. Because rock is a lifestyle, each issue also covers the latest fashion and the coolest movies and videogames. All 72 pages are printed in full color. The price of Up Magazine is € 3,95 per issue.
The history of Up Magazine starts in November 2001. The original circulation of 1000 copies was exclusively distributed to the better record stores, via Suburban (Bertus) en Sonic Rendezvous. The market appeared to be vivid, resulting in a nationwide distribution to bookstores in Holland via Betapress. On top of that,AMP will take care of the Belgian distribution from January 2004. The total circulation of 5000 copies will be spread over approximately 2000 points of sale. After the circulation was tripled in September of 2003, Up Magazine will appear in a circulation of 5000 as of January 2004.
